The Japanese Grand Prix was first held at the Fuji circuit in 1976. It was a fantastic success and is well-known as the race was the definition of title between James Hunt and Niki Lauda. In 1977, but, Gilles Villeneuve, caused an accident that killed two innocent people off the track.

The Formula One race was not carried out in Japan for a decade after the incident, and when he finally did return to Japan, which was held at Honda’s Suzuka circuit, instead of the Fuji circuit. After 30 years of not being held there and have a lot of money invested to renovate the place, the race returned to the Fuji circuit in 2007.
