Back in the olden days, when the only go kart tracks in the neighborhood were located at the nearby family fun centers, accidents were few and far between. But with the specialized go kart tracks and the higher speeds we see today it is wise to be aware of and to follow a few simple safety precautions. With the lower speeds of yesteryear it was simple to drive safely, but times have changed. Nowadays you must be aware of what can happen on the track and be prepared for it. But with a small bit of preparation go karting can be a thrilling experience. Racing takes all forms, from ATVs to scooters, from motorcycles to mopeds, but go karts are the only form that will give you the thrill of Formula One racing without as much of the danger.
It’s hard losing control of a go kart when it’s traveling at a top speed of 5 mph, but it’s a very common thing at 60 mph. It’s the drivers who have the attitude “it won’t happen to me” that seem to end up in distress more often. And when a driver thinks of his gokart as a toy instead of a racing vehicle that’s where the distress can start. But on the contrary, it’s the drivers that take safety precautions seriously that have the most fun with the least accidents. So driver beware.
There is a certain amount of risk at any speed, but most accidents can be prevented with some common sense and preparation. From the type of go kart you buy to the type of safety equipment you use can determine your level of risk. Anything is possible once you’re on the track, head injuries, broken bones, fires and more. That’s why it’s necessary to have all of your safety measures in line before really climbing into your gokart.
The first step to being safe is to race your go kart in a class that you are prepared for. There are many go cart classes that will cater to every age range from kids to adults and to every experience level from none to professional. Learning to drive a go kart is a skill that can be mastered honestly quickly, but becoming a fantastic driver may take a much longer time. It’s best to drive in a class with drivers of your same experience level. Once you improve your skills you can then advance to the next carting level. Racing against drivers that are much better than you can spell distress on the track, so it’s smart to go up in class only when you have bought the skills to do so.
With the high speeds we see today is it really possible to race go-karts safely? There are two answers to that question. On the one hand, if you are well-prepared with safety in mind it is possible to keep your risks low and remain relatively safe on the track. On the other hand, any sport can be perilous if you haven’t carefully prepared and throw caution to the wind.
So exactly how quick are we talking about when we say that go karts reach some incredible speeds today? A normal racing kart can reach speeds of up to 60 mph. But an enduro kart can get up to 90 mph and a shifter kart 160 mph or possibly even quicker. Now that’s burning rubber! Flipping your vehicle over or getting hit from the side at any of these speeds is not something you want to do. That’s why it’s vital to take precautions at every stage.
We have already mentioned that if you don’t feel comfortable at these high speeds you can race in a class that matches your experience level. So don’t start sweating just yet. The number one cause of accidents is carelessness. And no matter how careful you may be you must remember that you will be racing against drivers that may not be as careful. So race in a class that fits your comfort zone.
Helmets are a must at any speed. Find a quality helmet that will protect you from serious head injury if the unforeseen should happen. Head injuries are usually the most serious of injuries when racing and avoiding these types of injuries is priority number one. Clothing is also vital. Go-carts carry fuel which can catch fire in a crash. This is why it’s vital to wear a fire-resistant racing suit, gloves and protective shoes. If the front of your gokart should hit another car or barrier it’s the feet that most often get injured. A special pair of shoes can protect you from many foot injuries.
Buying a safe go kart is another vital thing to reckon about. Most gokarts these days have a cage that protects the driver during a rollover. They also have strong side bars that prevent injuries when another driver rams into the side of your vehicle. These are two vital safety features that you should not be racing without. It’s better to spend a small extra money on a well-built go kart than to skimp and leave yourself less protected. In order for you to have fun you must lessen your risks as much as possible.
We have presented only the main safety precautions in this small article. By keeping safety as your number one goal your go karting experience should be a fun one instead of a risky one. And with a small practice maybe we’ll be watching you race alongside Tony Stewart one day.
If you have experienced the feeling that arises from taking part in a RC nitro car race then you probably know how rough and tough it can get, while you are handling the RC nitro cars at top speeds with a radio device. If you have experienced that you must also know how rough and tough you feel yourself once you handle the whole affair successfully. The thrill and excitement one can feel through RC car racing is a unique experience that is not very far from falling in the same category of what a race car driver would feel while he races.
Irrespective of your current age, the racing spirit will be felt by you and you may very well become a fan of RC car racing to feel that excitement again and again. The joystick of your RC car is equivalent to a combination of your actual car’s wheels, brakes, and gears. It is through this radio-control device that you will control everything about your champion RC racer. This is one reason why you should practice enough to familiarize yourself with the controls before you take part in a competition.
The term rough and tough should not mislead you into thinking that RC nitro car racing is meant only for men. The thrills and chills of RC nitro car racing is not limited for anyone, what it means is if you happen to take a look at a competition, you will find that men, women, children and even teenagers are interested in RC car racing and te numbers are growing with each passing year.
The rough and tough aspect of RC car racing can be best experienced if you choose to buy or build an off-road RC vehicle like a buggy or a truck. These are really tough RC nitro cars that are capable of handling the trough outdoors even off the roads. Their durable chassis, high bottom-end torque and large tiers provide them with all they need to run at high speeds through all obstacles like mud, rocks, dirt and sand. You would require a excellent deal of controlling expertise as well to successfully guide your rough and tough RC car through the uneven outdoors.
If you feel motivated to buy a RC car of your own, then inquire well about the product that you are about to spend your money on. Go to websites to read the online reviews about different models from different companies. After you have read what experts have to say, choose your model and buy it from a shop that is known for excellent after-sell maintenance. You can even order it online if your desired model is not available with the local store. As the RC nitro cars which give the best racing experiences cost more than electric RC cars, set your budget wisely and match your needs with it to get the best RC car that you can.
The SB1070 law proclaimed by the governor of Arizona, Jen Brewer, on April 23, 2010 took effect on July 29th 2010. For Washington, immigration issues are the sole responsibility of the federal government, and local laws cannot override federal laws. On behalf of the Federal Government and her answer concerning this law, the judge, Susan Bolton rightly demonstrated responsibility of the federal government enforcing immigration laws in this country. But, in reality the context of this Law, has given other states the ability to try to imitate similar laws such as i. e. Florida. July 29th will go down in history as a day that persecution over immigration will be carried forward with the pretext of legality, but really racism is the main issue to overcome. It is a disgrace in this country that preaching the values and respect will allow the state of Arizona to persecute and mistreat those involved in any type of discrimination related to race, color, religion, and ethnicity. The same governor of Arizona, Jen Brewer, signed another law that prohibits the school system to uphold among members of any ethnic group; especially to those targeted primarily to students of a particular racial group, as well as promoting resentment towards others particular groups. In this state, they expel school children a small over a month before finishing the school year; over one hundred students will abandon school due to controversial measures taken by Arizona’s Governor, included in the anti-immigrant legislation, and enforced by the Department of Education of the state. I want to remind you all the hurt done to the humanity during Second World War (THE HOLOCAUST). Today, in the 21st century, Arizona legislation is chasing the unprotected groups. Therefore, destroying all families including children unable to end school. Recall that Abraham Lincoln was the president during the civil war granting African-American their freedom. Since then, what have we learned? If history repeating itself? How far are we gotten?. Our national security, our economic recovery and the future of the United States of America and indeed the future of human civilization depends on our country taking leadership. And that, in turn, depends on the United States Senate acting. This is sending a clear message that a state passed such a heinous law, and any consciences person in this country have a moral obligation to speak about. The mere existence of what I believe in, all human are made equal, this is the foundation of our nation. God Bless America. I am deeply concerned, not just as a Civil Rights advocate, and not just as as a constitutional and first amendment lawyer and as an election attorney in California, but simply as an American at the election campaign tactics I am seeing in this 2008 Presidential election by the Republican party. Even as criticism mounts from both Democrats and Republicans, the tactics being employed by the Republican Presidential candidates are destroying any semblance of truth and fairness in the election process and using discrimination to try to gain votes.
Now we are hearing of the latest tactic by John McCain, the very candidate who previously criticized this tactic in a previous election – robo calls. Robo calls are automated telephone calls that are negative attacks on the other candidate, only instead of airing these ads on television, they come by way of the telephone, usually when you are having dinner.
John McCain only days before he started using these robo calls, criticized the Democratic candidate for allegedly spending more money than any campaign in history on negative ads. Whether this claim is right or not in terms of money, it does not appear to be right in its inference that Obama is using a greater percentage of his ads on negative ads. That would be John McCain’s campaign.
In his latest tactic, John McCain has clearly crossed the line once again by using these automated calls to tell voters that Barack Obama allegedly voted against a bill that would give care to babies born alive after abortions, that Democrats will enact an extreme leftist agenda if they take control of Washington, that Obama places Hollywood above America, that he has worked closely with a terrorist, and that Obama lacks the judgment to lead the country.
Now add the inferences by the Republican party and/or their candidates, surrogates and the people introducing the candidates at rallies that the Democratic candidate is unpatriotic, has an arab sounding middle name, is a person to be frightened of, or is a person who can’t be trusted, who has a hidden agenda, or who by virtue of an association with someone who did something when the candidate was eight years ancient, is a terrorist. Is it any wonder that a woman, at a rally like so many others for the Republicans where despise-filled shouts have been made in recent days, told John McCain she had read that Barack Obama was an Arab?
How, after all these years of improving race relations in this country, are these tactics and election advertisements being allowed to cause civil rights leaders and members of the public dread they are taking us back to times in this country that we thought were behind us? How can a candidate who claims he puts his country first make every attempt to divide this country? We all know that John McCain, who has a long and honorable past, is a better man than what we are seeing at his rallies or on one particular news station. Yet, we continue to see actions and comments at Republican rallies and now these robo calls that have now drawn the ire not just of civil rights activists but even the concern of other Republican Congressmen and Senators. Is it any wonder that Colin Powell, a Republican who served as Secretary of State, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and National Security Adviser under Republican Administrations has come out in support of Barack Obama and criticized the campaign tactics of John McCain, the latest of which is to infer that Obama’s policies are socialist.
In the last several elections, the focus of many of the most objectionable tactics were to pit religious voters against voters for whom religion was not an issue, based on perceived stances by one or the other candidate on religious issues. This type of insinuation has also been used this year against the democratic candidate, on the basis of an incorrect assumption by some and an intentional mischaracterization by others that since Obama was born in Kenya, he must be a Muslim.
More rage and consternation was brought to the surface this year with the strong showing by Hillary Clinton in the primaries and the selection of Sarah Palin as the vice presidential running mate of John McCain. With questions raised in particular toward Sarah Palin of whether she could be vice president and still be a excellent mother, women cried gender discrimination foul at the media.
Is it naive to question why a candidate’s religion ever enter into the debate? If the candidate says he won’t let it interfere with his being honest and evenhanded, shouldn’t that be the end of it? Why should a candidate’s age be a problem if they are knowledgeable and not in terrible health, if the Vice Presidential candidate is qualified as well? Why should a person’s gender ever be a problem? But to many voters, these aspects of a candidate are the most if not the only reason for how they will vote.
Perhaps we, as a nation, are forced to accept that at election time, some of people’s worst sides rise to the forefront in our election process, but shouldn’t we be better than that, and shouldn’t the persons we are questioned to elect be better than that?
If the polls are any indication, this year we may just see a backlash against those who would make discriminatory inferences, and whose party would use fake allegations as the basis for part of their campaigns. It may be naive, but it is hoped that based on a few comments made in the last few days by John McCain, before the election is over and with signs he is behind in the polls, John McCain will repudiate the statements made out of rage and dread by supporters at his rallies even more forcefully than in some earlier statements and again repeat that his supporters should be respectful of Barack Obama and his accomplishments. For at this time in our country’s history, our country can least afford to be torn apart by campaign strategies that have small to do with solving our country’s economic crisis.

There is a lot of antagonism toward the United States in certain segments of the African American community. People such as Louis Farrakhan have made hatred of the United States “fashionable” and “cool”. President Obama has been a part of this community, much of it originating in Chicago, where Jessie Jackson, Farrakhan, Jeremiah Wright, Williams Ayers and Reverend Michael Pfleger have spouted this anti-Americanism in the name of both real and perceived past wrongs.
Barack Obama’s pastor of over 20 years, Jeremiah Wright, has said the following things about America: “Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run!. . . We (in the U. S. ) believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God. ”
“The government gives them the drugs, builds larger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing ‘God Bless America. ‘ No, no, no, God damn America!”
Recently, the US Justice Department dropped a case against members of the New Black Panther party for “lack of evidence”. Members of the New Black Panthers were accused of intimidating voters at a polling place in Philadelphia. There was clear video evidence of the incident. J. Christian Adams, who was involved in the prosecution of the case, quit the justice department alleging that people in the justice department were told to ignore cases where the defendants were black and the victims were white.
Last summer, Barack Obama criticized the police in Cambridge, Massachusetts saying that the police acted “stupidly” in arresting black Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. He made this accusation in a prime time speech after he just admitted in the previous sentence that he didn’t know all the facts of the case.
Does Obama’s view of the US differ from that of Jeremiah Wright or the New Black Panther party? Obama’s policies are often prefaced with the phrase “an even playing field”. In reality, but, it amounts to “Getting even”.
Of course there has been slavery and discrimination in the United States. Slavery is a stain on humanity but it didn’t start with the US. Physical Evidence of slavery dates to around 11,000 years ago in southern Africa. Western slavery goes back 10,000 years to Mesopotamia. Egyptian hieroglyphics show that they practiced slavery. Where is the hatred of Egypt for originating such a vile practice? Where is the demand of Egypt for reparations?
In ancient times, conquering armies in Europe and Asia found it more profitable to enslave captives than to massacre them. Black slavery between antagonistic tribes existed in Africa long before the advent of the Portuguese in the 1400s. Portuguese slave trading started in 1442, particularly on the west coast of Africa in an area that became known as the ‘Slave Coast’. Soon the Spanish entered the slave trade in 1517, followed by the English (1553), the French (1624), and then by Holland, Denmark and the American colonies.
Once the United States was formed as an independent nation, it inherited the mess of slavery. Obama should be familiar and sympathetic to the thought of inheriting messes since he reminds us each day that he inherited a mess and that it takes time to solve such things (whether he inherited or caused the mess is another question for a different day). Slavery was a mess that was made over 10,000 years ago so solving it while trying to make and unify a new nation was no simple task.
The United States was a nation built on compromise and yes, there were many people in the new country that owned slaves. Yet the people who wrote the constitution did recognize the inconsistency of making a nation based on equal rights and opportunities while allowing an evil such as slavery to exist. Unfortunately, in order to unify the Unites States as one nation, they had to compromise on the issue. Yet written into the constitution in Article 1, Section 9 is a mandate that slavery would be outlawed by the year 1808.
So slavery existed for over 10,000 years and this new nation, while trying to fend off foreign threats, unify disparate views and make a constitution to live by, did as one of its first priorities, write into the new constitution that slavery would be outlawed within 32 years of its founding. In fact it was the United States and England, the two nations most accused of practicing slavery, that were the most involved in ending it!
They were not completely successful but their intentions were clear. John Jay wrote in 1786:
“It is much to be wished that slavery may be abolished. The honour of the States, as well as justice and humanity, in my opinion, loudly call upon them to emancipate these miserable people. To contend for our own liberty, and to deny that blessing to others, involves an inconsistency not to be excused. ” Patrick Henry wrote:
“I believe a time will come when an opportunity will be offered to abolish this lamentable evil. Everything we do is to improve it, if it happens in our day; if not, let us transmit to our descendants, together with our slaves, a pity for their miserable lot and an abhorrence of slavery. ”
It of course is right that the founding fathers owned slaves and this has caused many in the African American community to have contempt for these “dead white men”. The founding fathers were not perfect people but they inherited slavery, they didn’t cause it. They knew it was incorrect, and were the first in over 10,000 years history to take real steps to end it. For this they deserve praise, not criticism.
There are those who will say that the wealth of America was built on the backs of slavery. If this is the case, why didn’t all the other countries who practiced slavery achieve wealth and success? Why didn’t Egypt, which had thousands of years of a head start on slavery, not become the world’s foremost economic power? Portugal was the first country to be involved in the African slave trade to the new world so why didn’t that country produce the wealth and innovation that later came out of the United States? Spain and Portugal brought slavery to South America so why didn’t any countries on that continent generate success comparable to the United States?
The wealth and success of the United States is due to a system that recognizes the rights of the individual. It is due to a unique thought that says the government governs only by the CONSENT of the people. Thomas Jefferson once said:
“When the people dread their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty. ”
The reason why so many major inventions and patents have come out of the United States is because people know they can invest their own time and money in an thought and if successful, reap the rewards from it. People have been able to feel confident that the success or failure of their thought is up to them and not on some arbitrary person in government who may choose on a whim to change the rules. There is a reason why people risk their lives to come to the United States. It is incredible that people would call this a racist country while at the same time fighting in every way possible to come here and delight in the opportunities it provides.
Like every country on earth, the United States has done shameful things. While the United States didn’t make slavery, segregation existed in this country well into the 1960s. That is a stain on this country that can’t be ignored. And yet, while imperfect, it is a country with a conscience. It eventually finished slavery and while far too late, eventually finished segregation as well.
The “Get even” battle being fought against America by the likes of the New Black Panther party, Louis Farrakhan and Reverend Wright is not a battle against the forces of racism. That battle has already been fought and won. Ironically, the battle being fought by this “Get Even” crowd is a battle against all that is EXCELLENT about America. They are really fighting against the very forces that were able to eliminate the evils of slavery.
Barack Obama seems to be a part of this “Get Even” crowd. He demonstrates this by his actions, his words, and by who is friends are. His vision of “change” would be to remove the principles that finished slavery and replace them with the thoughts that tolerated and caused slavery. Skin color, social rank, and class all play prominent roles in Obama’s agenda. These are the evils that were behind slavery and what the constitution place in place to eliminate. It took nearly 200 years to finally get it all working properly and now Obama and his “Get Even” crowd would have us go backwards again.
Mast stiffness is based on a scale called the IMCS or the International Mast Check System which measures the flex within a mast depending on the load and the relative length of the mast. The IMCS scale starts at around 19 which is very flexible while the other end of the scale is 30+ which represents a stiff mast.
Fibreglass masts tend to be stiff but will nearly have some carbon content in them to give it some flexibility. Lets take a wave mast for instance which needs to be durable due the impact of the waves and the beach. These masts normally have around 40% carbon content which makes it light as well as durable. High end performance masts which are very light and are used for racing tend to have the highest carbon content as much as 80%. This high carbon content is vital for mast control in gusty conditions where it flexes quickly under load and returns to its relative position much quicker than a heavier mast with less carbon fibre.
Lighter masts are also usefull for Formula fleet racing where the conditions are often light winds force 3-4 and where dynamic pumping is required to lift the formula board onto the plain. The lighter masts adds a lot of speed, whip and extra power. When you buy your sail, rig manufacturers may recommend the right mast for that particular sail so you should’nt have to worry about mast stiffness and the IMCS scale. But, in performance windsurfing knowing your stiffness can be a matter of winning or losing the race!
So, when you buy your rig make sure you have the rigging instructions which will give you the suggested luff (leading edge), mast stiffness and boom length which should be written at the bottom of the sail. This will make tuning your rig a lot simpler and hassle free. Then all you have to adjust is the amount of downhaul depending on the conditions, your ability and the style of windsurfing you are about to undertake.

It was in the 1940s when diminutive, nitro-methane powered engines were first marketed. They had a speed that can reach of up to 113 km/h but can only run in circles from a tether. It was there that it got its nicknames of “spin dizzies” and “tether cars”.
During the 1960s, the first miniature cars that could be controlled via radio from a distant transmitter were introduced. These new model cars had the power to steer, accelerate, and brake at the driver’s will. These cars are capable of running through racetracks with accurate control, and thus, radio controlled car racing was born.
In 1984, radio controlled car manufacturer Associated Electrics, Inc. introduced a classier and sleeker version of model race car called the RC10. The RC10 was electric powered; unlike the common cars that were nitromethane-driven. It was a deviation from Associated Electrics usual line of RC’s. RC10 was made from a more powerful aluminum alloy and it had built in shock absorbers that were adjustable.
Aside from its new electric capacities, the RC10 model had the option to incorporate small ball bearings made of stainless steel into its wheels and transmission. Also, its transmission had steel rings forced down on the ball bearings, a feature enabling full modification for any track situation. Without question, RC10′s abilities made it the top choice in electric RC racing.
In 1986, another RC manufacturer, Schumacher Racing Products, launched their Competition All Terrain (CAT) model car. It is a four wheel “buggy” racer that was considered as the greatest of its class. It went on to win the 1987, 1990, 1994, 1995, and 1996 world championship off-road race. This model car was recognized as initiating and popularizing the interest in four wheel car racing.
Team Losi, a well loved radio controlled car racing team, released their JRX-2 model buggy and immediately started a rivalry with Team Associated that survives until today. Both teams headline the American radio controlled car racing scene, with Gil Losi, Jr. acting as the formers’ founder and leader. Team Losi was the first to produce miniature tires that were all natural, the first four wheel “buggy” that was American-made , and a new set of car types that were 1/18 scale of the Mini-T.
Outside of the American RC racing circuit, other makers like the Kyosho (Japan) and Schumacher (Europe) hold much market share both in innovation and technology. They are the prevalent choice of makers for hobbyists in their respective regions.
Radio controlled car racing is an excitable game that promotes accuracy, discipline, and car engine knowledge. It is no wonder that it’s a well liked leisure activity across the globe.

Will America succumb to the cancer of racism?
By H. J. Harris, author of America the Racist?
The question of how the 45. 7% of Americans who did not vote for President Barack Obama would respond to his presidency emerged immediately after the election.
Will these Americans who did not vote for Obama – predominantly white republicans and conservatives – acknowledge and accept the vision for change supported by the 52. 9% of Americans – white, black, Latino, democrats, republicans, conservatives, liberals and others – who voted for President Barack Obama?
Or, will those Americans who did not vote for the President do everything possible to undermine the desire for change that the majority of Americans voted for?
The answer became clear with the emergence of raucous groups of predominantly white republican, conservative Americans opposing the health care plot – often based on inaccurate, distorted, and sometimes blatantly untrue information. It appears those who voted against the President will make as much noise as possible, make confusion, and do whatever it takes to go America backwards – to the way things used to be – the racist past of discrimination, injustice, and hatred.
The final indication of the motive and intent of those who did not support President Obama is in the controversy over President Obama speaking to America’s school children.
The push back against this speech is proof that the cancer of racism, that has sucked the life out of the American dream for over 230 years, still rages in the hearts, minds and psyche of Americans who cannot accept the desire for change nor the reality of an African American president.
This vocal minority cloaks their racism in the guise of issues. When these issues are examined under the light of truth, they are calculated deceptions feeding the cancer of racism the majority of Americans sought to cure in the Presidential election.
There was no outcry from parents threatening to remove their children from school in 1988 when President Ronald Reagan, a Republican, spoke to school children on live television.
Neither was there an outcry in 1991 when President George H. W. Bush, a Republican, spoke to school children on radio and television. Parents did not threaten to take their children out of school to keep them from hearing the President. Some Washington Democrats objected to President Bush’s speech on political grounds, but there was no national outcry among parents.
In neither case did Boards of Education throughout America meet to choose whether to show a Presidential speech. It reminds us of the 1950’s and 1960’s when certain Boards of Education disrespected the law of the land set forth in Brown v. the Board of Education. They had to be sued to admit black students. Are we going backwards?
Consider this: perhaps the real reason that certain citizens and Boards of Education are objecting to the children watching President Obama’s speech is that they don’t want their children to see the image of an educated, articulate black man in charge – in the highest office in the land. Perhaps some Americans prefer their children watch stereotypic black men in jail, on drugs, shooting, catching or hitting a ball. But, a black man as president contradicts the paradigm of slavery and racism that is woven into the fabric and consciousness of America.
Is this outcry an attempt to perpetuate negative stereotypes of black men by preventing children from seeing and hearing an educated, articulate black man as President.
When we observe the raucous health care debate, and controversy over President Obama speech to the nation’s school children, we see that the information, concepts, and historical perspective set forth in our book, America the Racist? are critical to understanding the impact of racism on the future of America. We must know the past, to properly act in the present and build a better, more just and righteous future for our nation.
Many have said that the election of President Barack Obama signaled the end of racism in America. But, based on the absolute partisan division, rhetoric and tone of conservative media, the health care battle, and speech controversy, it is abundantly clear that racism is still seethes and festers in America.
But, after listening to President Obama’s speech to the students, I was indeed proud that a majority of our citizens, white, black, Latino and others stood up and voiced their support for the President and his inspiring message to our children.
American is at the crossroads. We can stand for the change needed to make our country live its creed – all men are made equal. Or fall again for the dread mongers’ tactics. Will we let despise lead us back to the rage, violence, and racism of our past? Is that to be our future also? Where do we go from here?
Consider this poem from “America the Racist?”
And so America!
When the rains of truth
fall upon your naked body,
and the flood of tears
of a million captive souls
comes upon your barren shores,
and the winds of justice and equality
beat upon all that you have made,
Will America stand before the eternal Judge,
as a testament to the glory of man’s humanity to man?
Or, will America fall as yet another broken promise
that hypocritical men offer up to their God,
and be plowed into the earth
as though it never was?
The answer America is not in our stars, but in ourselves
Amen!

But one particular movie stood out because of its plot. The car joins the Monte Carlo rally. As a precocious small kid, I also recall asking my parents what rallying meant? And my mother, who instilled in me the discipline of doing research at an early age told me, “Dear, why don’t you look it up at the dictionary?” That was how I found out about rallying as a sport, which has flourished to this day. And there are more fascinating facts that I have learned about the sport of rallying. Its origin can be traced back to the 1894 Paris-Rouen Horseless Carriage Competition when people who have their own visions of what a “horseless carriage” should look like entered the contest and winners were ascertained by the judges who rode in each car. Eventually, it turned into a period of city to city road races primarily in France and it started components associated with rallying competitions today, individual start times with carraces against the clock, time keeping at beginning and starting areas in each town along the route and driving over long distances of rough and unpaved roads. The Monte Carlo Rally started in 1911 by Prince Albert and takes place in Monaco. It is the first race for the FIA World Rally Championships. Winning a rally gives a car prestige and credibility in terms of a car’s performance under tough and demanding driving conditions. I often wonder why is there so much money poured in by sponsors into motorsports. Even if gas prices became unreasonably high last year due to a host of several factors I couldn’t know its importance. I figured if oil prices didn’t go down to the levels that it is today, although its still high, will it still be logical to hold rallying events or any other motorsports for that matter? Wouldn’t the sport be hurt and greatly affected if oil prices skyrocketed to for example $200 a barrel? Then I saw the print ad for one of the huge oil companies. The add states that it is through these races, whether it’s rallying or formula one racing, that the car manufacturers test their latest improvements in their respective vehicles, with these changes brought about by the manufacturer’s research and development team. And not only are the car manufacturers who benefit from this but also oil companies and tire makers. So, to win in any motorsport, the car who has the right balance in its engine make, tire selection and amount of fuel in order to meet the demands of the track conditions or the graveled road shall ultimately win the race. Consumers ultimately, benefit the most. Improvements that were proven to be reliable are then passed to buyers of new automobiles as car manufacturers add these changes to make a better product overall in terms of a vehicle’s safety attributes, performance under all conditions and gas consumption. So next time you open the door of your new car, remember to thank those motorsport drivers who risk their lives for a few hours of adrenalin rush and made your car safe for you to use. That is if one doesn’t drink and drive! Check out Motor Sports results at ScoresPro. com.

Nothing but ‘ARAB RACISM’ & ‘ISLAMIC BIGOTRY’ made maintains drives the ‘MIDDLE EAST CONFLICT’
Simply place, the powerful Arab Muslim majority of the middle east (convinced they “own” the place) is intolerant against the (though democratic and multi-racial, multi-culture, still it’s majority of the population and official identity is) non-Arab, non-Muslim Israel.
THE 1920′ RACIST ATTACKS ON THE JEWS
Ever since the racist Arabs and Islamic bigots started to massacre POWERLESS innocent Jews in the 1920′s, it was always about intolerance, Any wonder now why the global devious Islamo Arab massive machine likes to ignore the 1920′s and rather to talk about the “State of Israel” being (re-)established in 1948 as the “cause”. . . ?Or their unwillingness to elaborate about Hitler’s Mufti, the infamous Arab Muslim fascist ‘spiritual’ leader, that incited the pogrom on the Jews of Hebron in 1929? (the same Haj Amin Al-Husseini that led the Hitler-ist Nazi SS brigade into Serbia to commit crimes against humanity upon Serb Christians and on the Jews in the second world war, also led the ‘Farhud’ pogrom upon Jews in Iraq in 1941).
RACIST CALLS FOR GENOCIDE ON JEWS
If the earlier Arabs’ wars on the Jews were marked by “let’s drive them all to the sea”. As then, now, Hezbollah’s Hassan Nasrallah talks about he’s so pleased the Jews are gathered together in one place – Israel so it’s simpler to massacre them (genocide!). Or today’s Palestinian Arab Muslims yearning to ‘drink the blood of the Jews’ and broadcast in broad day light their ‘message’ to ‘wipe off the Jews’. In fact, the typical genocidal slogan used: ‘Itbach al Yahood’ = kill the Jews in Arabic, hasn’t changed from the 1920′s massacres on Jews until now when “Palestinians” or other Arabs march “peacefully” against Israel. . .
THE RACISM THAT EXPELLED 850,000 JEWS FROM ARAB MUSLIM COUNTRIES – 1948
How many know the number of Jewish refugees (of 1948) forced to leave Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Libya, North Africa, etc. with their properties robbed by their Arabian governments? Their only “crime”, “reason” was of course – being Jewish. [You don't notice it today because the loving Jews took in their Jewish brethren and became part of Israel, unlike the Arabs who treated/treat their Arab 'Palestinians' always in terrible terms, those refugees called "Palestinian-refugees", is basically nothing other than a case of an all Arab fault, after the 1948 war, which was of course, initiated by Arabs, where the Arabs attacked and tried to eliminate all Jews, in which they lost, most Arabs that left were told to flee by their leaders to facilitate an all Arab attack on the newly re-established Israel in an attempt to ruin it of course, some chose cowardly to flee on their own [all those that fled to Arab "brethren" countries still suffer mistreatment until today], those that stayed, live inside Israel as equal citizens – a fact about Israel even the Arab lobby’s paid ex president, the Arabist Jimmy Carter admits. Yes, an unrefuted fact, despite the high risks involved, Israel always treated Arabs better than Arabs treat their own people].
[ALL] JEWS ARE DENIED ENTRY INTO CERTAIN ARAB MUSLIM COUNTRIES AND ARABS INSIDE ISRAEL HAVE FREEDOM TO RACIALLY ATTACK ISRAEL
Why are Jews denied entry into Arab Muslim countries such as: Syria and Saudi Arabia? If the reason would have been: ‘they only oppose Israel’ (which in itself is also, still just bigotry, but that’s besides the point), why not allow non-Israeli Jews in those Arab Muslim countries? But tomorrow you will hear again about [racist] Arabs inside Israel, especially those in power in the Israeli democratic elected equal-for-all parliament, stabbing the backs of their Jews and denounce them in the most vile forms (most favorably: painting Israelis’ dread of Arab terror as “racism”), on international media, especially on Arabic media. More troublesome is of course the wide dangerously-racist conduct by Israeli Arabs in aiding Arab terrorists to mass murder Jews, place it this way, no terror massacre attack on Israeli civilians could have ever been carried out without the clear help by the Israeli Arabs living freely inside Israel.
AHAMADINEJAD’S “ISSUE” WITH ISRAEL. . .
Could you point to me where Islamic republic of Iran’s “border disputes” with Israel are at? the usual excuse the Arab ‘Palestinians’ are masquerading their racist anti Jewish genocide agenda with? or Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s “reason” for wanting to “wipe off Israel”, [or Islamic Republic's crime in massacring Jews in Argentina in the AMIA building] or why he calls for ‘Death to UK, Death to US’?How more obvious of his goal to make another holocaust does he need to get, if it wasn’t clear enough to us in his attempts to “deny” the first one upon the 6,000,000 Jews [that included ALL types of Jews, religious or not, Zionists or not, those with a certain ideology or those without, that included 1. 5 Million kids! That unique historic crime 1939-1945 of attempting to ERASE an entire creed]?So why the reluctance [by some liberal circles] to call an Islamofascist what he really is? [Or What else do you call Bin Laden that "gives" only one option for America, Islamic conversion that is?]Another question related to the Islamic Republic, What’s on the Mullahs in Tehran mind in sending it’s global Mehdi army the terrorists thugs – Hezbollah, to murder for Islamism, in Iraq, Somalia, Lebanon? Is it “aching” for the “poor Palestinians” again?
THE ‘OCCUPATION’ EXCUSE AND THE ARAB MUSLIM ATTACKS BEFORE IT ‘HAPPENED’. . .
Or the excuse of ‘occupied territories’ that ‘occurred’ in 1967 when Israelis pushed away Arab attackers and captured ‘territories’, So, let’s see what these Arabs, the ones not called ‘Palestinians’ yet, such as in the years of 1920′s, 1930′s, 1940′s, 1950′s, what “drove” them all those years prior to the so called “occupation”, to try to ruin Israel and ‘drive them all to the sea’ (genocide)?
THE SAME ARAB RACISM
Because ‘ARAB RACISM’ that despises all that is non-Arab, wether Africans, such as the largest calamity since WW 2, today’s largest genocide, the one in Sudan, where the Arab Government of Khartoum, the Arab militias the infamous deaths-squads mass-rapists villages-erasers, the ‘Janjaveeds’, augmented by “imported” Arabs from neighboring Nigeria and Mauritania, an all “Arab supremacist” force ganged up against the indigenous African black poor population, [spilling over into] Chad, or wether one is a Kurd, as in persecuted in totalitarian oppressive regime of Syria, or in Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, no other reason why he tried genocide on them, by the same token also clarified why he was so pro “Palestinian”, the [typical] Arab racist had no better words to leave the world with, other than with his racist message that “all of Palestine is Arab”, meaning no Jews allowed! That racism in the Arab world that persecutes the [real] indigenous of/in their lands, the Berbers, the history of distress upon the Maronites in Lebanon, etc. And Why do you reckon real slavery today in age is only ‘left’ practiced in the Arab world? How much do you know about slavery in Mauritania? or take for example the “sex” and other types of slavery in the “kingdom” of Saudi Arabia (and in other Arab states) upon non-Arabs. (or the persecution of the Al-Ahdam and other minorities).
THE SAME ISLAMIC BIGOTRY
The other factor ‘ISLAMIC BIGOTRY’, that can’t tolerate anyone that is not Muslim or not the “right kind of Muslim” (as in Shiite massacre Sunnis and vice versa in Iraq, the Islamists’ war in Algeria claiming 100,000 casualties, or attacking ‘moderates’ in Somalia and the terrorism against the Gulf states), that bloodily attacks/attacked non Muslims in the Islamic (oppression) republic of Iran, in Afghanistan, Christians in Iraq, (Christians in Sudan – prior to current ‘conflict’ there), Nigeria, E. Timor, the Islamists being caught in Europe that simply want to murder Europeans [take the ones caught in Austria for example, not even an 'Iraq war' excuse can "work" there. . . ], declared war and kills Buddhists in Thailand, Hindus in India, persecutes Arab Christians in Lebanon and among “Palestinians”, that kills Jews (in Israel or in Diaspora) only for being Jewish. Let’s place it this way, What goes through your mind when you read the ‘often’ brutal attacks by Arabs, Muslims in France or in England (for example) on Jews? is it “freedom fighting” or is it another Pallywood slogan like “fighting oppression”?Or, What did you reckon of the not-so-isolated cases of ‘Palestinian’ Muslims forcing Christians into Islam, like pointing a gun to Christian journalists ‘Convert to Islam or die!’ or forcing Christian Arabs in Gaza to become Muslim?Or, Is there a difference between the Paris metro bombing [1995], Bali bombing (of Australian youths in 2002), 911 WTC bombing [2001], Madrid bombing [2003], Bombing in Istanbul Turkey [2003], Bombing in Casablanca Morocco [2003], Beslan massacre of kids [2004], London bombing, [2005], multiple bombings in Mumbai, attempts to bomb the UN in Switzerland, bombings, massacres in Tel Aviv, Netanya, Jerusalem, etc. ?
GLOBAL ISLAMO ARAB POWER
Ever wandered how come the [issue of victims of Arabs in] Darfur genocide is always subdued when bashing Israel’s defense against ‘Palestinian’ Arab attacks are always brought up? try the ISLAMO ARAB GLOBAL [LOBBY] POWER, the bigoted power [via oil, terrorism and threatening economic power] that (oppresses Israel and) drives the UN agenda, and even has the US foreign policy in check, Could you otherwise clarify how come the neo-conservative George W. Bush’s foreign policy so Arabist pro-’Palestinian’, his relentless efforts to establish a NEW THING, never before in history, a ‘Palestine’ state, for the grandchildren of Arab immigrants [immerged mainly in the 1880's] into the historic land of the Jews? The Arabs’ power in pushing the ‘Iraq war’:After Iraq’s Saddam Hussein invasion of Kuwait and threatening Saudi Arabia that brought Bush Sr. attacking Iraq in 1991, Can anyone in his right mind really deny the Arab mighty Gulf states’ hands so deep in George W. Bush’s invading Iraq in 2003?That’s right, and you thought they only control your economy, your pocket and hold you by the ‘throat’ at the pump.
A BIGOTRY THAT IS WILLING TO KILL IT’S OWN PEOPLE TO DEFAME ISRAEL
Those cruel tactics of using it’s own women and children as ‘human shields’ among “Palestinians” and among [Syrian-Iranian Arab Muslim militia terrorists] Hezbollah are no secrets, it demonstrates you again and again, the Arab racism & Islamic bigotry how far it will go to make sure Israel’s image is hurt in world opinion, via most bloody images of injured/dead Arab kids, pointing — of course — to the “terrible Israel”.
THE BLIND HATRED MASQUERATING AS ‘ANTI-ZIONISM’
1) When Arabs, Muslims call to kill the “Yahood”, this is exactly what it means, no more no less, but: to ‘kill the Jew’. 2) Everyone knows about the ultra orthodox Jews piety and their objection to Zionism, they (most of them) don’t even serve in Israel’s army, yet they, their distinct exclusive neighborhoods, have been targets in Arab Muslim terror attacks to massacre their kids. Even a religious anti-Zionist school [situated as far as] in Montreal Canada has been attacked [2004] by Islamic arsonists. 3) Attacking Jews outside Israel, wether a journalist in Afghanistan or a Jew in Paris, or a crowd of Jews in Argentina can never be connected to a so called: “anti-Zionism” ideology.
THE ANTI-SEMITISM IN THE ARAB MUSLIM WORLD
When you see the overwhelming documented Anti-Semitism, hatred against ALL Jews that is, in mainstream Arab Muslim media, most evil type of cartoons (these hypocrites are the same that will call to or justify to kill for any “offensive” cartoon on their Muhammad of course) in their mainstream education instilling blind hatred upon Jews (or on Christians) you feel so overwhelmed that you can never “clarify” it by just a “conflict”, because it’s rather the cause of this whole conflict and not the result of it.
THE MUSLIM LIE REGARDING [JEWS'] JERUSALEM
Since when was this never refuted historic city of the Jews a “Muslim issue”? (refreshing memories/history/facts – Israel’s capital – Jerusalem was the Jews’ long before Islam was invented/came about in 620, Yes, Jews’ holy books are filled with Jerusalem as a hope and yearning for it’s rebuilding, but no! the Muslims’ book, the Koran never mentions Jerusalem! nor was Muhammad ever in Israel, Jerusalem) It was only the late ‘Palestinian’ leader, the Egyptian born “turned Palestinian” (another epitome of “indigenous Palestinian” myth) Yasser Arafat, (the notorious liar thief who stole the money from his own population and) rose the Islamic world to the ‘Palestinian’ case as an ‘Islamic’ cause, jumped on the wagon of Jerusalem to sell it well to the Islamic bigotry, an empowered weapon yet, how to de-legitimize Jews from their holy places.
MAKE A LIST OF THE SO CALLED “ISSUES” THAT ALWAYS TRIED TO COVER THEIR RIGHT FACE OF BIGOTRY
So, first it was the massacres of the 1920′s, without any excuse, then came an excuse of Israel as a state (what’s really incorrect with that other than not being an Arab Muslim, AKA an ‘outsider’?), then after attacking Israel again & again they lost the 1967 war, due to their loss they brought upon themselves an “occupation” or “occupied territories”, now they want Jerusalem as well (Why not? Since Israel is always willing to give. . . ), truth is but, that when “Palestinians” [extremists or moderates] talk among themselves referring to “occupation”, they mean ‘ALL OF ISRAEL’ for themselves, that’s really their ultimate goal, in other words “no place for Jews there”!
ISLAMIC APARTHEID VS PLURALISTIC ISRAEL
Oh! wait, also among their “issues”, in their bombastic Pallywoody language, they dare define the security checkpoints, (you know those that you have in the airport and in other crowded places to check you out for metals and bombing devices?) as “apartheid” or “oppression”, imagine that! when the real Apartheid is practiced of course all over the Muslim world against non Muslims or even against women, trust me! you don’t want to be a Christian in Saudi Arabia or in Gaza, or better yet, see the open vibrant lives of Muslims inside pluralistic Israel and (apart from some pockets in Tunisia/Morocco) see no more Jewish life in the Arab-Islamic Apartheid world!.
NEVER ‘WHAT ISRAEL DOES’ BUT THE VERY EXISTANCE OF ISRAEL IS NEVER ACCEPTED
Could you count the countless gestures Israel always did/does with the Arab-’Palestinians’? I can’t. But take a look at one particular case, at the aftermath of an historic uprooting of Jewish families from Gush Katif in the Gaza peninsula [2005], Do you imagine an uproar at any nation if such a drastic step would be taking? And what did Israel really “get” from all of this [immense sacrifice for peace sake] from the bigoted Arab world?Did any Arab state come forward and denounced the racist years long boycott of the ‘Jewish’ state? or had the guts to establish relation with Israel, Heck! not even having the minimum of decency shedding it’s arrogant racism and “giving” Israel the minimum which every nation has, the right-to-exist!Never mind the very recipients of Israel’s give-away, the Arab ‘Palestinians’ themselves, what did they then or ever ‘give’ for peace sake? On the contrary, as a result the Islamic [more] extremis t terrorist Hamas only grew and won Gaza by well loved vote from mainstream ‘Palestinian’ Muslims.
NO RACISM, NO CONFLICT!
As long as the arrogant Arab Muslim world continues to “believe” that the middle east “belongs” only to them, will not change their evil fascism to ‘accept’ the non Arab non Muslim ‘entity’ in the middle east [we are not talking nearly as much as Israeli Arabs are accepted in Israel's democracy and are often first class citizens over Jews especially in land cases plus they are not obligated to serve in Israel's army, like other Israeli citizens do, yet have all the rights], no “concession” by the excellent guy Israel (the only side that always feels “guilty” and sacrifices for peace, When was the last time Arabs gave anything to the Jews? or, Is there a Jew allowed to live on ETHNIC CLEANSED “Palestinian” territories ‘Judenrein-Palestine’!, while Arabs make up 20-25% of multi-racial tolerant democratic Israel’s population? now, do you still need a better example of Excellent vs Evil?) will really ‘change’ anything in reality.
SAY IT OUT LOUD! ISRAEL – THE CLASSIC VICTIM OF BOTH ‘ARAB RACISM’ & ‘ISLAMIC BIGOTRY’
Clearly, Israel, Jews are not the only victims of ‘Arab racism’ & ‘Islamic Bigotry’, but — most probably — there’s no better classic victim of these evil forces, in dealing with a problem you better define it, yes, the “conflict” is nothing but intolerance! How many such clear sane announcements have you been exposed to?Why the PC of so much confusion and dancing around the subject? For any real peace visions, you must include this problem to be recognized at and plans to CHANGE it, rather to root it out!!
ELIMINATE ISLAMIC BIGOTRY = A VISION FOR WORLD PEACE
I HAVE A DREAM. . . With that dream of Arab-Muslims changing their bigotry to tolerance, hatred & rejection to understanding & acceptance, not just the middle east conflict would then vanish, take a excellent look around and tell me, just about how many onflicts all around the world are not related to Islamic bigotry?Because the key to world peace [today] or world war is in Muslims’ (mainstream and leadership) hands only! But until you won’t see disappearing the dark cult of hatred being instilled into young minds such as, that ‘the infidel’ is terrible, the “apes & pigs” doctrine to be referred to Jews and Christians, glorifying Jihadi mass murderers as “heroes”, and their mainstream media in a full function of demonizing & inciting rather than real reporting, all this peace vision will remain just that, a dream.
NURBURGRING – A BRIEF HISTORY
The original 27-mile long Nurburgring racetrack was completed in 1927 and immediately became well-known (some might say infamous) around the world. Over time various changes were made to the circuit but it always remained challenging and very long. But, as the decades past, safety became more and more of an issue for riders and drivers. The lack of run-off areas and bumpy, uneven corners were just two concerns that were raised. Jackie Stewart is famed for calling the circuit “The Green Hell”, a reference to its scenic location and perilous and demanding nature. Growing concerns finally reached their peak after Niki Lauda’s horrific crash in 1976 when he was severely burned during a Formula 1 race.
This marked the end of Formula 1 races at the ancient circuit, but the German motorcycle Grand Prix continued to be held there until 1980, when that too was finally withdrawn for safety reasons. Changes needed to be made.
A completely new 3. 2-mile long racetrack was constructed and eventually opened in 1984. This new circuit marked the return of Grand Prix racing to the Nurburgring.
The 13-mile long Nurburgring-Nordschleife (North Loop) was formed when the ancient track was split up. The Nordschleife still occasionally hosts competitive motorsport, such as touring car racing, but top-level events are now reserved for the new circuit. Vehicle manufacturers, including BMW and Porsche, hire the Nordschleife for testing. Motorcycle and car clubs can also hire the circuit. It’s probably most well-known for its public access sessions, known as ‘Touristenfahrten’ (Tourist Driving).
THE BASICS
If you want to experience the thrill of riding the Nordschleife yourself, there’s some essential information that will make the whole adventure more enjoyable.
First of all, check the Nordschleife opening times before plotting your trip. The last thing you want to do is turn up to find you’ve wasted your time and money. Opening times can be found on the Nurburgring’s own website (www. nuerburgring. de). Times can vary and on some days the circuit is completely closed, so beware.
The Nurburgring is approximately 55 miles south of Cologne (Köln) and 100 miles west of Frankfurt. The nearest large city is Koblenz (about 40 miles away).
The A61, A1 and A48 autobahns all pass within 15 miles or so of the track. Alternatively you may want to take the scenic route. The Nurburgring lies in the heart of the Eifel region, well known for fantastic scenery and fantastic biking roads.
Google Maps, or something similar, is ideal for helping with your route plot. While you’re doing that you can zoom in on the Nurburgring complex and see the layout. Although the Nurburgring is well sign posted and isn’t that hard to find, the whole complex covers a large area. The whereabouts of the Nordschleife entrance isn’t always obvious.
The location of the entrance is on the L93 road, at the following GPS co-ordinates: 50. 34667 N 6. 96583 E. You can type these co-ordinates into Google Maps to see exactly where it is, or load them on your own satellite navigation system, if you have one.
There are several free viewing areas at the trackside. One of the more well loved is at the Brunnchen bend on the B412 road, GPS location: 50. 37028 N 7. 00833 E. At Brunnchen there’s a large un-surfaced parking area, but few other comforts.
Another fascinating viewing area is at the Breidscheid bend on the B257 road, GPS location: 50. 37694 N 6. 95028 E. At Breidscheid there’s a bridge that takes the circuit over the B257, the viewing area is next to this bridge (you walk up a flight of stairs to reach the track). Parking is available at a cafe about 100 yards away.
If you need to top up with fuel there are several petrol/gas stations in the local area that also sell a range of Nurburgring souvenirs.
WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE NORDSCHLEIFE
Parking is to the left-hand side of the Nordschleife main gate entrance. Refreshments are available at the Nordschleife cafe next to the parking area. Souvenirs are also available from a shop opposite the cafe.
The ticket office is to the right-hand side of the main gate. You can buy laps at anytime during opening hours (prices are shown outside the ticket office). Most staff speak very excellent English. At the time of writing 1 lap costs 23 Euros. There are reductions if you chose to ride more than 4 laps.
The whole area is about the size of a football pitch. This means that everything can be found easily.
When you’re ready to start your lap, line up in front of the barriers next to the ticket office.
There are 4 lanes, the 2 middle lanes are for motorcycles and have motorcycle symbols painted on the road surface.
Your ticket will be a plastic card (the same size as a credit card). Once you arrive at the barrier machine you place this card against a flat sensor (the sensor has an outline the same shape as your card) the barrier will then rise, and away you go. There are normally staff at the barriers in case anyone has a problem. The card is retained by you and can be loaded with extra laps at anytime.
There is a speed limit of 30 kph (19 mph) for the first 300 metres after the barriers.
There is a similar speed limit on return to the start area after completion of your lap.
Once your lap is completed you will be filtered off the track and back into the start area (even if you have a multi-lap ticket). You must go through the barriers again for each lap you do, but you don’t have to start another lap immediately. If you wish, you can park your bike, relax and take on some refreshments, then start again.
Your plastic, credit card style ticket, can also be loaded with money to pay for food and drinks at the Nordschleife cafe, or any of the other attractions around the Nürburgring complex. You even get to keep the card as a souvenir!
RIDING THE CIRCUIT & SAFETY INFORMATION
The Nürburgring-Nordschleife is a demanding 13-mile long circuit. Officially the track has 73 bends. Some of these bends are ‘blind’ and some have an uneven or bumpy road surface. Delight in the Nürburgring experience, but please ensure you and your motorcycle come away in one piece.
My advice for first-timers is to reckon of the circuit as a quick road ride and not a racetrack!
The Nordschleife is classed as a one-way public toll road without speed limits (except on approach to the entrance and exit). Officially vehicles must be 100% road legal and normal German road traffic law applies.
Take your all your vehicle’s documents, your Driving Licence and your Passport. You probably won’t be questioned to produce these documents, but it’s a legal requirement to carry them when riding in Germany, even on normal public roads.
You must wear full protective clothing (not necessarily leather). Suitable boots, gloves and jackets designed for motorcycle use will be fine (no jeans, t-shirts or trainers). Wear a crash helmet that has a visor or a crash helmet with goggles.
Your motorcycle must be road worthy and have rear view mirrors on both sides. Also make sure your tyres are in excellent condition and have plenty of tread left (if you’re a hard rider, and do several 13-mile long laps, you could end up with no rubber for your return journey). Slick tyres are forbidden.
Officially there’s a noise limit of 95 decibels for all vehicles. This can be measured at trackside or by officials making spot checks. Despite this rule, many people ride or drive the circuit with very loud exhaust systems. In my experience it’s highly unlikely you’ll be refused entry for this reason.
The taking of photos or videos while riding the Nürburgring-Nordschleife is now prohibited. Photos and videos can be taken from various viewing areas outside of the track boundaries.
Store the Nürburgring-Nordschleife emergency telephone number on your mobile phone before you start your lap: 0049 8000 302 112
If you see a plain yellow flag being waved by trackside officials this means ‘danger ahead, no overtaking’. Approach and pass the danger zone cautiously and at a speed appropriate to the situation (max. 50 kph / 31 mph).
If you see a yellow flag with vertical red stripes being waved by trackside officials this means ‘oil or other fluids on the track, no overtaking’. Slow down and proceed with caution (max. 50 kph / 31 mph).
Never overtake a safety car when its roof mounted yellow lights are flashing. Follow at a safe distance until the lights are switched off or the safety car leaves the track.
Overtaking on the right is forbidden. Overtake on the left (indicate first to let others know your intensions).
Always be aware that you may encounter much slower moving vehicles (anything from camper vans to tourist coaches use the track).
Check your mirrors for quick moving vehicles approaching from behind, if it’s quicker than you, go to the right and let it past (bear in mind that some people are regular ‘ringers’, there’s always likely to be someone quicker than you).
Don’t go crazy on your first few laps. It can take many laps for a excellent rider to learn the circuit; don’t reckon you’re a terrible rider because other people pass you. Ride at your own pace.
Avoid the temptation to explore the limits of your machine. If riding with a pillion passenger allow an extra safety margin. Don’t place pressure on yourself by trying to impress your friends or by timing your lap.
In case of a breakdown stop your motorcycle at a safe place on the grass verge next to the track. Stand behind the safety barrier and call the emergency number for help. There’s a charge for removing your vehicle from the track.
In the event of an accident anyone involved, and any witnesses, must stop to offer help. Call the Nürburgring-Nordschleife emergency telephone number.
If you’re found to be at fault in an accident, prosecutions and fines may follow. You may also be liable for any costs incurred for track repairs and track closures.
Anyone found not complying with the Nürburgring-Nordschleife rules can be banned from riding on the track.
WARNING
It’s unlikely your Motorcycle Insurance, European Breakdown Insurance and Personnel Travel Insurance will cover you to ride the Nurburbring – Nordschleife. Hire companies are also unlikely to permit the use of their vehicles on the Nordschleife.
REMEMBER: IF YOU CHOOSE TO RIDE THE NÜRBURGRING-NORDSCHLEIFE, YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Let’s face it: stock car racing looks fantastic fun. Tearing around a track, bashing into other competitors cars like bumper cars on steroids. But the origins of the sport trace back to the 1920s.
Originally, it was gangsters in the prohibition era trying to outrun the police that started things off by racing each other.
The term ‘stock’ cars originally referred to cars that had not been modified in any way from their original manufactured configuration but that definition has become somewhat looser over the years.
In the UK, the sport started in the 1950s with the ever well loved ‘banger’ type cars, wrecking each other as they drove round the circuit.
While there are other classes of stock car racing in Britain, it is this class of racing that is the most enduringly well loved with the public.
Nowadays, the cars are production models that have been modified for safety. For example, the drivers doors are reinforced, roll over bars are added and windscreens are removed. The pleasure in this type of stock car racing is watching the cars crash into each other as they compete to win.
The race tracks are usually around 440 yards and oval in shape and there can be as many as 250 cars booked to race at any one event. In fact, the annual “Heavy Metal Classic” event in January at Standlake Arena in Oxfordshire has had over 270 at its peak.
Getting involved in stock car racing is quite simple – you don’t need to spend much on a car after all and the British Stock Association is the first port of call for anyone looking to get into the sport.
If you want to get your feet wet, many gift experience companies have stock car racing days, which would make an ideal birthday gift for the boy racer in your family.
Within the past few weeks I have witnessed the race for President turn into a race toward racism. Barack Obama’s pastor has been accused of being a racist because of his so-called insensitive comments toward white Americans. Geraldine Ferraro was labeled a racist when she said that Obama would not be so successful if he were a white woman or a white man. I was so enflamed with rage that I wrote an article about Pastor Wright and Mrs. Ferraro. But, what enrages me the most is that the media has really turned away from covering the issues that matter most to Americans. We now have news anchors that speak of Barack Obama in terms of his Pastor. As if he’s responsible for the words that another man says. While it is incorrect to judge another human being based off of our learning’s from the Bible, it is also incorrect to mark our nation as Christian when we fail to forgive someone for their shortcomings or their words. Jeremiah Wright may have truly offended people around the country; I am not one of those individuals. What bothers me the most is how so many continue to try and dismember his character; to try and tear him down as a man. If we are truly concerned with the condition of our nation and its sickly disposition, then why do we spend so much time trying to prove who has more intolerance? Is it Pastor Wright or is it Barack Obama?
We must go past this useless and pointless conversation about race and focus on why so many Americans have lost their homes and if we should continue to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan . What these last few weeks have taught me is that our nation has for too long pretended to have a conversation about race relations in America . If your only weapon is to use the words of another human being in an attempt to bring him down, then God will surely prevail. Our Christian values have taught us that God is all knowing, all loving, and all inclusive. If we are to truly walk in the word of the Lord then we cannot continue to go in words of despise. I call on each individual to rise above what the enemy is attempting to do to this nation. We cannot prosper if we swim in the despise filled words of others. Only if we like the individuals that we dislike the most and self-examine our own actions will this nation truly live up to its destiny.

Go carts are certainly thrilling, but they can also be perilous if not taken seriously. You have to remember that it’s not just you out on the track. There will be other drivers attempting to pass you around sharp corners whose talent may be questionable at best. By following a few common-sense safety rules you can eliminate most of the serious dangers.
Different types of go carts can have speeds ranging anywhere from very slow to very quick. But regardless of the speed they are always exciting to race. They are simple vehicles that are also simple to handle. No matter what your skill level there are tracks all over the country that will fill your needs and wants. There are many go cart classes or levels that will cater to every age range from kids to adults. Gocarts are generally simple to drive and simple to control. This is why they have become so well loved, because it’s an simple and relatively cheap way to experience the thrill of Formula 1 racing without the expense or the danger.
There are many different types of vehicles that are built for racing fun. Among these are ATV off road vehicles, motor scooters, dirt bikes, mopeds, mini bikes, motorcycles and gopeds. But if you are wanting to experience the thrill and excitement of Indy Car or Formula 1 open-wheel racing, with a powerful gas engine rocketing you down the track, and with relative safety, go carts are what you will want to be climbing into.
For beginners to experts, and everyone in between, go carts are fun. Whether you want to drive as slow as your Grandma or as quick as Tony Stewart and Michael Schumacher, racing go carts can get you there. Many top professional NASCAR, Formula One and Indy Car drivers today got their start in the lowly go cart. With a lot of practice maybe you can achieve the same success.
It wasn’t too long ago that go carts were mostly found in family fun centers where any kid and his small brother could go racing at a whopping 15 or mph. They still exist, but real go cart tracks have been springing up all over. It’s now possible to go 60 miles an hour in a go cart. And if that’s not quick enough for you try an enduro cart and reach top speeds of 90 mph. Or race in a shifter cart at an astounding 160 mph. Don’t start sweating yet, you don’t have to go that quick to have fun. You can drive in any level or class that you feel comfortable with.
But this brings up some questions: With go carts speeding down the track so quick these days, are they too perilous to drive? Can you travel as quick as 100 mph and still be safe? The answer is yes and no. Sure, you can still be safe, but without following certain safety rules you can increase your chances of serious injury. It’s not necessarily the quick speeds that cause the serious accidents, but the unsafe or inexperienced drivers.
The first rule of the road is to remain in your comfort zone. This is simpler said then done but because racing is not for the timid. At some point, when you want to go up to a more experienced level or class, you may not feel equipped to do that. But, by building up your confidence in the lower classes you will eventually be ready for more competition. Just don’t try to go up quicker than your driving expertise allows.
Back in the olden days, when go carts were extremely slow, you could go racing safely without a helmet. Those days are long gone. Even in kiddie tracks helmets are a requirement now. The helmet is perhaps the most vital piece of equipment that a go cart driver will ever use. There are other pieces of equipment that are necessary too, but none more vital than a high-quality helmet. In the event of a crash it can spare you from a serious head injury.
To a fantastic extent you can control the amount of danger that you are faced with. Many decisions that you make before climbing into the cart will determine how safe it will be for you out on the track. From the type of clothes you wear to the type of go cart you buy will help determine your safety level on the track. By taking every safety precaution that you possibly can you will lessen your risk of sustaining a serious injury. So do your homework and be prepared. It’s a lot more fun racing go carts when you can walk away after a race instead of having to be driven away in an ambulance.
The importance of clothing can’t be overstated. The slower you race the less vital clothing becomes, but the quicker your go cart goes the more you need to be sure you are clothed properly. Depending on your speeds certain clothing may help spare you from serious injury. At quicker speeds fire safety suits are a must. There is ignitable fuel in your vehicle and in the event of a crash it is possible for it to catch fire. Preventing burns is a very desirable thing. Other indispensable gear includes fire-resistant racing shoes to protect your feet and gloves for your hands.
All go carts today have roll bars that extend higher than the driver’s head. The chassis of the go cart will either be open or caged. A caged go cart has a cage that covers the driver. It protects the driver in the event of a rollover. It serves the same purpose as a roll bar. Most tracks demand a cage for safety. Go carts also have side bars that can protect you from serious injury should another driver ram you from the side. You have to remember, you could be the greatest driver in the world, but you’re not out there alone. You are driving with others whose skill levels may leave a lot to be desired. So buying a quality go cart is always a excellent thought.
By taking these few simple precautions it will improve your chances of having fun out on the track by lessening your chances of becoming injured. Go carts can be just about as safe as you make them. With some practice and experience there is no reason why any driver can’t go up the ranks safely. Keep safety as your number one goal and go carting will be fun for many years to come.

You choose. Whether it be a feminist like myself, or just an ordinary person. What do we see more of in the U. S? Right this is the land of opportunity, but is that chance given to all of us equally? Do certain people have the jobs they hold because of the color they are, or their gender?
A lot of racism still exists all over this country, for instance; if you take a look at the South compared to how the rest of the society is…what exactly do you see? It’s not all friendly and welcoming to many. Criticism can be used at points to the extreme, turning it into a racial discrimination. But I believe at this point in time living in a melting pot of cultures, everyone has an thought of prejudice still sticking around.
What about sexism? How come this is not taken as seriously as racism? It is still a form of intolerance. There are millions of men out there, walking freely with a mind of empowerment over women. Thousands of women out there are living and standing an abusive relationship. The more power these men have, the harder it is to stop them from what they are doing. Most of these women wont utter a word, because they are frightened and don’t have enough financial support to take care of a family by themselves. The others completely lost all of their strength and self-esteem.
Many men turn out the way they are because they were rather brought up that way, and tend to carry on the footsteps of their father. Being young you’re like a sponge, they probably saw their fathers treat their mothers or other women poorly. Women get treated like dirt by some of these men. They are sometimes taken as less then human, treated like objects. They are exploited all over media for their bodies only. I could reckon of a hundred things that are demeaning to women. In America, a lot of these cases are kept hidden. But look at places like the Middle East, they are allowed to show nothing but their eyes. They do not even have the right to drive, or be out without a male acquaintance. Some might take it as religion, but is it justice? The rates of rapes are still no less over there. Although at this time Congo being so corrupted has the worst rape cases.
It’s not always the woman’s fault. Putting yourself in a situation like that doesn’t really count if you are being forced. These men who are walking on the streets openly can be a danger to innocent lives. Take a look at novels written about men who want complete power over women because of the simple fact of them being male. Bastard out of Carolina, The Color Purple can be some examples. The rate of domestic violence is starting to top the charts in the U. S, so are the rapes. I feel a man who rapes just wants power, that’s all. Over something or in this case someone, so they go after women. Clearly they can’t do that to 7 feet tall 500lbs “Huge Show”, so they choose their victims cautiously, knowing that they can succeed and countless times even get away with it.
As I mentioned earlier, more than half of these cases and men are hidden to the society in America. Yes, feminists, and other women who do have the courage are protesting…but is it enough? Besides the racist populace, women deserve the same rights and opportunities as men have. Reckon about the types of jobs. Why aren’t there women plumbers? In some cases, a whole new concept for what freedom is. Sexism shouldn’t conquer, bravery should. Racism isn’t the only issue people should lose sleep on. Thus, I’ll just leave you with one more thing, diminishing sexism in your country…go home and I’ll let you sleep on it.
Nascar has faced a lot of criticism for a lot of things over the last few decades. We can attribute the criticism to the popularity of Nascar. Apart from the environmental impact of Nascar which has led to criticism, there are other technical reasons as well. One of the reasons is the oval shape of most Nascar racing circuits. Driving enthusiasts have severely criticized the difficulty of these race courses when compared to the extremely hard twisting and turning race courses of Formula 1. They say that it involves going round and round for 500 miles and nothing else.
Some courses of the Formula 1 place up to 5 or 6 G’s of stress on the body of the driver. This is really absent in Nascar. But Nascar has denied these allegations and countered by saying that there are certain race series in which road courses are included. But again it is for a very small percentage of the race. Nascar has also brought to light the fact that even the Indy racing league uses mostly oval tracks.
The Grueling Season
The grueling racing season of Nascar is also a reason for its criticism. While a Formula 1 race has 22 cars in its beginning, a Nascar Nextel cup race has 43. Add the 36 point races for the entire series, and the session becomes extremely hectic. The drivers are left with just a few hours to practice. Some of the drivers have even quit the sport because of their inability to cope with such stress.
Drivers who have been reasonably successful in road racing circuits have been unable to duplicate that success record in Nascar. The prime reason is the difference in the entire structure of the two.
The Cars
The technology behind the cars is another reason that Nascarhas faced so much criticism. The cars are mostly fitted with accessories from the 1950s. The carburetors, cast iron engine blocks and most primarily the use of leaded fuel have triggered huge criticism against Nascar. The reluctance of Nascar to add safety devices has also aggravated the criticism against them. The use of this equipment places more emphasis on getting an undue advantage rather than focusing on the skill of the driver.
The Business
The last thing that has received flak from critics is the Nascar business structure. The majority of revenue generated by the entire Nascar racing goes towards the France family, as they control most of Nascar . Many say that the drivers do not have a voice in Nascar and it is like a dictatorship. The penalties and fines that Nascar levied on its drivers for using foul language in the media have also been a reason for criticism against it.
This sounds like a joke, I know. Just a couple days ago I saw a newspaper article that prompted young racers, and specifically illegal racers to watch auto racing videos, car racing videos, drifting videos or even girls car videos instead of heading out on the streets and risking their lives. To those involved in racing in one way or another this statement or comment may seem as childish as asking a hungry man to stop eating after just one bite. The writer of this mentioned article invoked all the high risks present at illegal racing events, not only for racers but for the crowd also.
Alright, we might not all agree with this sort of advice, but no one can deny the fun there is to be had by even just watching car racing videos, drifting videos or girls car videos. Let me clarify a bit my mentioning girls’ car videos. I am not trying to be misogynous in any way. It’s just that many websites are now offering girls car videos of girls that are just now learning to drive. Whether it is guys or girls, it’s exciting seeing someone struggling to learn how to drive, especially in a race setting or environment. For those that either do not have the possibility to go and race their cars or even watch races live, just having the option to watch auto racing videos or car racing videos is like a breath of fresh air on an Internet filled with accident videos, scandals, and many other things that no one wants to hear about, especially in these times of crisis.
Watching drifting videos, girls car videos, car racing videos and others related from the comfort of our own homes is refreshing to say the least. Because most of us have day jobs or even night jobs that take out all our energy, having to option to watch auto racing videos is relaxing and brings us a small enjoyment after a hard day’s work. This is how the reality of live car racing video feeds was born. This became a reality a few years ago, but with the advances made in technology and Internet, we are now able to watch auto racing videos and drifting videos live from events. Watching videos live from races is immensely more entertaining and offers much more enjoyment than just watching videos from ancient races.
Even with all advances, some races are filmed with low quality cameras, so if you are really interested in watching high quality live drifting videos or live car racing videos, you should take the time to do a small research on the Internet. Literally you do not need more that 4-5 minutes of research to learn real high-quality live feeds from different events. Delight in!
Believe it or not, theres an election around the corner. No, Im not talking about the Presidential campaign. Im talking about November 6th, 2007 when communities all across the country will be deciding on local ballot measures, county commissioners, city councilors and the like.
OK, so maybe the thought of these local elections doesnt fill you with the same level of anticipation (or dread) as a rip-roaring presidential campaign can. But whether youre considering getting involved in the local 2007 elections, or gearing up for 2008, there are a dozen effective and fun ways to involve grassroots network members in the political process. In doing so, youll build both recognition of your cause as well as a pool of motivated and knowledgeable activists.
But before we get to those dozen ways, be sure you know the rules around non-profit electioneering. Overall, the hard and quick rule at the national level is that your organization is not allowed to support or endorse a particular candidate for office. Rules for state and local elections will vary, so be sure to become familiar with the restrictions in your area. One of my favorite resources for this type of information is the Charities Lobbying in the Public Interest site at clpi. org.
Properly armed with the legalize, lets plunge in!
1. Registering People to Vote: At work, home, school and everywhere in between, your grassroots activists can help get people registered to vote. Print up business cards, flyers or buttons that they can either download off your site or pick up at a local Kinkos or other distribution point (you can upload your documents online and have them printed out at most locations). The message? Go to www. beavoter. org to register in your state thats it!
2. Candidate surveys: Use a service like Zoomerang or Survey Monkey to place together a survey of candidates asking for their views on your issues. Then, work with your grassroots advocates to get responses. Candidates are always more likely to respond to requests from people in the districts they are seeking to represent. You may not use this information to endorse a particular candidate but you can sure use it to raise the profile of your issues in the election.
3. Media response teams: Whether its talk radio, local newscasts, letters to the editor or online outlets, theres generally a fantastic deal of talk in the news about election matters. Spend some time identifying advocates who can respond quickly to media tales in their community. You can help them by providing small talking points and referring them to Congress. orgs media guide
4. House Parties: The Humane Society Legislative Fund encourages advocates to take action around issues and elections through their Party Animals house party program. Activists arrange small parties in their community and are connected to the larger effort through a call with national HSUS reps and supporters. Consider a similar approach for your issues to generate enthusiasm over specific candidates and issues.
5. Bloggers Unite: Set up a blog for [insert name of your cause here] day near the elections and question any of your advocates who run a blog, read blogs or even know what blogs are to comment online about the importance of [insert your cause here] on that day. Again, youll want to avoid the appearance of supporting specific candidates, but your members can certainly talk about the issues as much as they like.
6. The Election will be YouTubed: You Tube has become the ultimate democratic medium. Tap the creativity of your advocates by seeking their videos highlighting the importance of your issues. The videos might be interviews with business leaders, concerned residents or whoever is most affected (hint: puppies and children are ALWAYS well received. )
7. GOTV (the ancient-fashioned way): For the uninitiated, GOTV stands for Get Out The Vote and its an vital component of any election effort. The ancient-fashioned (and still viable) means of getting the vote out include handing out flyers, making calls to registered voters (lists are available from local party organizations and/or the local board of elections) and partnering with well loved gathering places like malls and churches to help spread the word. Even simple techniques like changing ones voice mail to remind people to go vote can be effective.
8. GOTV (the new-fashioned way): At the same time, Web 2. 0 has provided additional tools for GOTV, including texting, twitter, IM, e-mail taglines and autoresponders. If that all sounds like a bunch of mumbo-jumbo, recall that most people under 30 use text and IM to communicate with one another if you want to get them to the polls, sending a text message is probably the best way to do so! Go ahead, question your teenager how to do it.
9. Take a friend to vote: OK, not much explanation needed here. But if every one of your grassroots members encouraged one of their friends to go with them, turn out would likely increase, right? And although one cant assume that ALL the extra votes would go your way, if your advocates are bringing their friends (possibly likeminded people), theres a more than 50-50 chance it will turn out positively for you.
10. Have some fun! Numerous national groups are raising the profile of their issues and having some fun through efforts like www. Edin08. com and www. electsusie. com. These efforts to, respectively, raise the profile of education issues and childrens health issues engages advocates in a whole new way.
11. Online petitions: At a minimum, getting people to sign on to online petitions gives you a ready list of people willing and able to be active on your issue. In addition these petitions can, if well loved enough, capture the attention of candidates. Start your own at http://reckon. mtv. com, www. petitiononline. com or www. ipetitions. com. You can also start a larger online campaign effort at www. citizenspeak. org or www. care2. com
12. Encourage Election Day Workers: Although some might not count this as truly supporting the cause (after all, as a worker, your advocates wont be able to promote your issue), I do believe that encouraging people to serve as election day workers will enhance not only your cause but the whole democratic process. Ive done it and its NOT simple but anyone who does it learns a fantastic deal about the election process — knowledge that will serve them well in other advocacy efforts.
Oh, and here’s a bonus thought. Get out there and vote early and often.
Reckon “racism”. Do your thoughts go to Klansmen waving burning crosses around or signs that state baldly “NO BLACKS NO DOGS NO IRISH”? It would be simple to target discrimination if it was so obvious. But, when it comes to racial steering and the differences in treatment of people of different races or cultures, things get murky. One of a Realtor’s (many) jobs is to uphold the Honest Housing Act, (42 U. S. C. 3601 et seq. ) which means that we are not allowed to steer people towards the “appropriate neighborhood for people, uh, like you guys”. We are not allowed to refuse to show homes to people because they have committed the sin of having a skin that is a few shades darker than our own. Or lighter. Or whatever. But, it seems that even today, we are still slipping in the filthy slime of racism. Small things, like that joke your boss said yesterday or the hedging questions of your latest client about the “mix” of a neighborhood. Or, the infamous, “I’m not a racist, but… [insert racist comment here]”. The problem with brushing aside things like, “I’m not a racist, but…” is that it remains ingrained as an acceptable practice. What we, as real estate professionals and as fellow residents of the Planet Earth, need to do is stand up and say, “No. No, it is not okay for you to do/not do/say those things. ”How do we go about it? Well, there’s always the cold stare and the icy, “I beg your pardon?” There’s the, “That’s offensive and I don’t want to hear it or anything like it again. ” And there’s even, “I’m sorry you feel that way. It doesn’t look like this business relationship is going to work out. “ Online, there’s commenting on blog posts that you feel cross the line. There’s reporting people on social networks who target others. There’s your own blog and website, where you can make clear your stance. The virtual world – websites, blogs, etc. are a hotbed of statements that denigrate people of a specific race or ethnic origin. Place your opinion out there and challenge people who make statements that place people down because of their race. Keep in mind that your clients may do their homework online – do you want to be seen as supporting racism with your silence or denouncing it?It goes beyond “doing the right thing”. Remember, you’re protecting yourself too. Racism hurts everybody, whether they’re a member of the targeted race or not. If it’s okay to steer a Chinese person away from a certain condominium, then it’s okay to do the same thing to a woman, a Jew, a redhead, a person over 65, a family with children. The same narrow-minded, ignorant reasoning can be used to exclude just about anyone from the basic rights of home ownership. As Realtors, we need to be more aware of these subtle exclusions and be prepared to face them head-on. It has been said on-line that, “There is no place for racism in real estate”. I disagree. There is a very comfortable place for it in our line of work. Our job is to make that place disappear.
Lewis Hamilton is aiming for this season to start in order for him to start his race for the World Championship as the Formula One formally kicks off this weekend in Melbourne, Australia.
Just one year ago he finished third on his first Grand Prix at Albert Park, but what really caught the eye of the public is the fierce some competitively against his team mate Fernando Alonso. He loved his first rookie season like no other has done it in Formula One; he had a fantastic year claiming four victories and eventually losing the World Championship against the Finn Kimi Raikonen; Ferrari’s driver by just two points.
Hamilton believes he can really improve from last year’s results and he thinks he has more opportunities during this coming weekend an experience that will leave a positive lesson.
Also; Alonso’s departure from the McLaren team to the Renault has given him a leading role that he didn’t had last season. “We’ve been working very, very hard through winter making sure the training’s even better but also preparing the car,” he added “Seeing a new car evolve, seeing the evolution of last year’s car, and seeing the input by me and Heikki (Kovalainen) and Pedro (de la Rosa) and Gary (Paffett), and seeing how we can help push the team forward I reckon is really special, it’s a fantastic experience. ”
The 23 year-ancient Britton also underlined he is completely focused in the Formula One racing since he was a small boy not and not even thinking on the risks this could lead to. He was told by his father that if he studied and trained hard he would keep on racing.
He had to make a lot of sacrifices to be as successful as he is right now. When he chose that he wanted to be a professional driver he dedicated his life to it and so did his family that have been there for him always.
“At a very early stage I made that choice that I wanted to be a Formula One driver so I dedicated my life to it and so did my family. “Along the way there was lots of different turning points and there’s two different roads you can take. It really was about taking that split choice right there and then you don’t have too much time to make the choice, get on with it and I was very, very fortunate that I went down the right route. ”
His entry to the Formula One was so smoothly but he overshadowed many drivers; let’s not forget his previous team mate the Spaniard Fernando Alonso. This uncomfortable situation did also taught him a lesson which was his certain ability to compete and excel in motorsport’s top tier.

As soon as the automobile was developed towards the end of the 19th Century, the first things engineers and enthusiasts alike wanted to do was to go quicker. The need for speed on four wheels was born but it took Henry Ford to bring the automobile to the masses with the Model T, launched in 1913, and using what was then state of the art mass production techniques. While the Model T hardly fits anyones description of a sports car, it was the fastest mode of personal transport then available. The trend towards quicker cars emerged from the development of the motor car, but it also spurred on further advances and technology. As soon as the car was invented, people started to race them and technologies and advances in the racing field spilled over into the mainstream production of cars. As a spectator sport, motor racing scored a hit from the very beginning too with many people flocking to see the new and innovative mode of transport as well as delight in the thrills and spills of car racing. Manufacturers quickly saw the advertizing and marketing advantages for having their car brand competing and winning in the car racing circuits and car rallies which sprang up around the world. The Paris-Dakar rally, the 24 hour Le Mans and speed trials on Florida beaches from which Daytona Speedway emerged, all owe their existence to the development of the car and our fixation with competing and going quicker. Chevrolet emerged as a car brand using the name of Louis Chevrolet, a well-known car racing driver of the early 20th Century. Chevrolet as a car brand grew from a racing pedigree into the well-known car marquee we know today. This development is echoed by all the well-known car brands we know today Ferrari, Jaguar, Porsche, the Ford Mustangs (especially the Shelbys) all of these owe their existence to the racing pedigrees established by racing. While the race car of yesterday and today are not suitable for everyday use, some of the design features were obviously attractive to mainstream consumers. Having a sleek, aerodynamic body shape lends a certain aesthetic but consumers also expected greater performance than a regular production car, not least because they were also looking to race the cars themselves. This brought the need for speed to the mass market, and many notable car racing drivers emerged from the amateur circuits established in Europe and North America. During the 1980s as the Japanese car manufacturers sought to establish a more up market reputation for their cheap car imports, one of the major sales tactics they used was to partner with established racing teams. By partnering with established companies with a racing pedigree, this allowed for the rapid adoption of technology which ultimately resulted in some Japanese and other Far Eastern manufacturers entering the racing circuits as competitors in their own right Subaru is a very excellent example of this. Success on the race and rally circuits nearly certainly ensured success in showroom sales, and this is as right today as it was back in 1913.
As this 2008 Presidential Election generates more interest than any election before it, and people from cities such as El Cajon, Carlsbad and La Jolla in San Diego to cities such as Newport Beach, Anaheim, Irvine and Yorba Linda in Orange County, from Santa Barbara to Ventura to Oxnard and Camarillo to Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Riverside, San Bernardino, Fontana and Fullerton to Palm Springs, Palm Desert and La Quinta want to know more about what they can contribute, both individuals and candidates have questions about campaign election finance laws and are looking for a California campaign election finance attorney who can advise them.
Many people don’t realize that in federal elections, the largest source of campaign contributions comes from individuals. The second largest source is political action committees (PACs).
Soft money is funds spent by organizations that do not expressly advocate support for or against a certain candidate and is money not contributed directly to an individual or a political party.
Bundling is the effort of one donor gathering donations from numerous individual donors and presenting that gathered amount to a campaign.
It is this last type of money, money raise through bundling that has in recent years been the subject of much abuse. Campaigns actively seek out bundlers but when they are accused of incorrect doing, they can reflect terribly on a campaign.
But when soft money became more hard to run through corporations and other organizations, bundling became more vital.
Political parties may contribute funds directly to political candidates and can make unlimited expenditures to support or oppose federal election candidates.
Contributions by individuals to federal PACs are limited to $5,000. Federal multicandidate PACs can give $5,000 to an individual candidate, and $15,000 to a national party committee. Federal non-multicandidate PACs can give$2,300 to an individual candidate, and $28,500 to a national party committee.
A multicandidate PAC is a political committee with more than 50 contributors which has been registered for at least 6 months and, with the exception of state party committees, has made contributions to 5 or more candidates for federal office.
Different rules apply to state and local elections. An individual intending to campaign for any elected office needs to know election finance rules and should consult with a political campaign finance attorney at an early stage in their campaign decisions and certainly at the first sign of distress.
News Note – Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Obama has set a new campaign contribution record with his announcement that his campaign fundraising efforts brought in $150 million in the month of September 2008. This gives Barack Obama a huge advantage which is reportedly allowing him to outspend John McCain by as much as 4 to 1 in some swing states. The campaign added 632,000 new donors for a total of 3. 1 million donors to date. The average donor contribution to the campaign is $86.

For the first time in this rollercoaster of an election period, I am fed up and disgusted. I was able (somehow) to stomach Palin’s “getchas” and “betchas” and McCain’s painfully dull speeches, but I am not able to condone racism.
Let’s be clear — other than referring to Obama as “That one” and releasing an ad associating Obama with a “terrorist”, I do not believe McCain has said overtly racist statements towards Obama (yet, there is such a thing as coded language).
Most disturbing, but, is the recent McCain and Palin rallies in which people have called Obama a “terrorist” and “Obama Bin Laden” and have even been heard shouting “Treason!” and “Kill him!”
Not only is it terrifying to hear someone threatening violence to a Presidential candidate, but considering Barack Obama is the first African-American President, you cannot ignore the racial undertones. In this country, you must keep in mind our history of slavery and Jim Crowism. Less than a century ago it was customary for extremist groups and mobs such as the Ku Klux Klan to terrorize and murder black people. That is one of the first things that comes to mind when I hear someone shout “Kill him!” in reference to Obama.
Racism, both overt and aversive, is systematic and pervasive in our society. Racism and hatred towards black people — Obama in particular — is not “out of the ordinary”.
There have also been some troubling incidents that have come to my attention:
· An Obama supporter in London was show by a BB-gun at close range because he was wearing an Obama t-shirt and because he was black.
· A man in Georgia tried to sell t-shirts that depict Barack Obama as Curious George (the monkey starring in beloved children’s books).
· There is talk of the Bradley Effect, which is when people, worried to seem racist, tell the polls that they are voting for a black candidate but then change their mind in the privacy of the voting booth.
· In a speech given by John Ashcroft, he (deliberately?) referred to Barack Obama as “Osama”. Politically leanings aside, that’s not politically right.
The racism and personal attacks must stop. By calling him a Muslim and a terrorist, people are associating Barack Obama with “otherness” (nevermind that a) he’s not Muslim b) being Muslim isn’t a terrible thing). People seriously reckon: He’s Muslim — don’t trust him. He’s a “pal” of terrorists — don’t trust him. He’s black — don’t trust him. It’s about time people looked at the facts: Obama is a United States Senator with extensive credentials and a strong educational background. He is an upstanding citizen and a loyal father and husband. Quite frankly, I’ve had enough of ignorant people’s nonsense to say the least.
What are your thoughts on racism and its effect on this election? Have you heard of any other incidences of racism in the campaign? Please share your thoughts and tales.
