mark Swansea, United KINGDOM – (Marketwire – November 1, 2009) – This is new. You can see far. It is an architectural gem which incorporates the main influences and inspirations of art and ancient Islamic, has been merged with the art and geometry associated with the speed, movement and spectacle. Its visual impact is made possible by all the LED technology.

It is the Hotel Yas, one of 500 rooms, 85,000 square foot complex recently completed by Aldar Properties PJSC, a leading real estate development in Abu Dhabi, a management and investment, just in time for the opening of 2009 Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix recently held October 30 November to 1. It is a study of how the marriage of ancient traditions and advanced technical collaboration to make surprising and unique results. The hotel is unique because the only hotel in the world with a track running through the center. The start of the inaugural F1 race on November 1 has been rescheduled to start at sunset and ends in darkness to show viewers the Grand Prix of the full potential of the building.

Many disciplines meet

The project represents a collaboration between several disciplines, including the two main entities: the United Kingdom-based Cooper Lighting, a lighting design and engineering solutions company and Swansea, Enfis Group Plc, a developer SMART and manufacturer of LED lighting systems to semiconductors.

The hotel’s design was the thought of Asymptote Architecture, the architectural firm in New York, known for making visionary designs for construction, plotting and control of space experiments that challenge the traditional boundaries architecture and integrate the potential of new technologies. The Yas Hotel truly embodies everything that is exciting about the design of contemporary art.

An impressive

Significance of architecture and engineering and principal characteristic of the design project, an extension of 217 meters from scanning, and more curvaceous than 5,300 glass panels swivel steel shaped diamond that are illuminated by a system Enfis sophisticated LED Lighting Group Plc, providing the infinite shades and colors. The shell component of the network that gives the building a veil like atmosphere that includes two towers of the hotel and a bridge built linking object as a steel unibody carved passing on the F1 circuit that winds through a complex of buildings.

From the outside, the color change LED Indoor Enfis can see for miles. It connects visually and wicks around the hotel, the racecourse and the sports complex optical effects and spectral reflections play against the sky around the sea and the desert landscape. Architecture as a whole “is” as well as an ecologically sensitive, and an architecture of spectacle and event. The overall composition of the project jewel-like visual and tectonically responds to its environment to make a clear and powerful sense of place and a backdrop for Formula 1 and other events that the building was in the coming years. The Yas Hotel is designed to be an vital destination in Yas Island landmark for Abu Dhabi and the UAE in general.

Enfis and Lighting Cooper – A collaboration of contrast

The desert climate of Abu Dhabi can reach 60 ° C in summer to rage on nearly all forms of light source – incandescent or LED. But as Chief Cooper Lighting, Gavin Smith, said: “From the beginning we knew this would be a major challenge for the environment taking into account the limitations inherent in the performance of the components of the LED and driver technology . We have conducted numerous studies to test products for some of the largest manufacturers in the world of LED. “Smith continued:” Our collaboration with Enfis solved this problem nearly immediately. Enfis Matrix / driver solutions were the only systems that have passed rigorous testing in our room environment. ”

Numerous tests conducted by Cooper confirmed that the solutions RAID controller Enfis really exceeded output specifications of light needed to operate at extreme temperatures. In addition, pilot smart Enfis LED technology also offers a range of wines:

a) the ability to control each LED array, place them in any color you want in a 4. 2000000000 color palette;

b) two-way communication with each parent combination driver / software through Enfis provide real-time monitoring the temperature of the unit, CCT and consumption of energy and

c) Remote Desktop Management (RDM) capabilities DMX.

A total of 208,800 LEDs have been used in the project making it one of the largest projects of LEDs in the world.

The collaborative team competition saw some of the largest companies in the world for the treatment of lighting technical requirements of the project.

Enfis specializes in solid-state super-bright LED lighting arrays that allow the maximum light output and extraordinary heat management. Its products, which also allow for variability in color and style, compact design, introducing new LED applications that until recently were only possible with traditional light sources.

The current capacity of Cooper and Enfis to work together to meet the environmental needs of complex projects and hard Yas Hotel is a source of pride at both organizations. “I reckon that designers are able to make lighting effects than anticipated for this project in large part due to the ability of Cooper to come with solutions,” said Smith. “And I reckon that Cooper was able to leave the solutions in large part because Enfis.

“Team Cooper Lighting has been a pleasure working with a unique vision of how to drive the LED technology, and how a set of accessories, and most importantly how to integrate them in a unique environment, as this structure mass, “said Shaun Oxenham, President of Enfis. “The result is a truly iconic structure that will be admired and appreciated by future generations. It really captures the essence of how to use solid state LED lighting for excellence in architecture.”

In the end, Cooper uses over 5850 paintings in Enfis LED lighting design for complex external environment Yas Hotel. The products consisted mainly of four channels Enfis UNO More tables and drivers integrated control tailored IP65 rated stainless steel fittings. The result is a testimony of the above and beyond “effort of the two companies working together.

The Yas Hotel truly embodies everything that is exciting about advanced contemporary design.

Impressive numbers

Of architectural and engineering significance is the main feature of the project’s design, a 217-meter expanse of sweeping, curvilinear forms constructed of steel and over 5,300 pivoting diamond-shaped glass panels which are illuminated via a sophisticated LED lighting system from Enfis Group Plc, providing limitless shades and colors. This grid-shell component gives the building an atmospheric-like veil that contains two hotel towers and a link bridge constructed as a monocoque sculpted steel object passing above the Formula 1 track that makes its way through the building complex.

From the outside, the Enfis LED color changing shroud can be seen for miles around. It visually connects and fuses the entire hotel, racetrack and marina complex while producing optical effects and spectral reflections that play against the surrounding sky, sea and desert landscape. The architecture as a whole “performs” as both an environmentally responsive solution as well as an architecture of spectacle and event. The entire jewel-like composition of the project responds visually and tectonically to its environment to make a distinct and powerful sense of place as well as a breathtaking backdrop to the Formula 1 and other events that the building will celebrate in years to come. The Yas Hotel is designed to be a significant landmark destination on Yas Island for Abu Dhabi and the UAE at large.
