Then the bailout is approved and goes into a tailspin in Europe nearly as quick as Sarah Palin star is fading and the campaign of John McCain goes to the dump. Then the negative campaigning starts in earnest.

Suddenly, nobody cares what the best movies were box office for the week. If even more film screenings? This political drama is too excellent to pass up. Besides, who can afford the popcorn and drinks in the more movies?

Now people are rushing home to see the latest poll numbers and to see the latest plays in Saturday Night Live. What candidates have zingers at each other? Sarah Palin can answer a question better than her ridiculous rambling answers she gave Katie Couric? Is a letter going to keep stringing McCain.

And you have the surveys and follow a horse race. First one candidate is ahead by a nose, and then the other is by the hair. Then, a candidate becomes a burst of speed as the other races to the wire.
