I finished my first marathon running in San Diego a week ago. It was the toughest thing I’ve done. But it’s also an incredible feat.
Something to fight while hoofing around the objective was to similarities between managing a business and a marathon (in my case, walking a marathon).
1. It’s the spirit. It was not an appointment at around 18, 19 miles, saying “I run marathons because after 20 miles, is all about your mind.” Or something. (My cognitive abilities have been melted at this point.)
Basically what this means is after walking 20 miles, nothing remains. You’re exhausted, your leg muscles are a tangle of pain and everything you want to do is mourning because we have more than six miles to go. These are probably the longest six miles in his life.
So, what keeps you going? willpower and determination.
You will cross the end line. No matter what happens. So go ahead. Despite the pain and exhaustion.
This is the same way people feel about their business success. They will be a success. No matter what happens. No matter how frustrated and depressed at this time. Never mind that just experienced a failure. I still get up and go forward.
And because of that determination to become a success.
But the reality is more determination. They want to succeed. It’s really what it is in a.
Reckon of it this way. When you have reached that mark by 20 miles, 90 percent of their body tells you to stop. In principle, every cell of your body below your neck that says: “The fuel is exhausted, energy reserves are dangerously low, serious hurt to the hull. We must stop the madness so you can regroup and repair. “
Only 10 percent of his body is said: “No, we must go forward.” So that 10 percent to 90 percent keep yelling “riot” that 10 percent is really the end.
And that’s how it is for your company. You have to want to really succeed. Because it is very hard if you do not. You return to the experience and pessimistic in September and failures and everything else. And if you really want to succeed, you will not be able to overcome all this.
But, if being a huge commercial success is not what we want is that it very well. There is no shame in not wanting something enough to continue when 90 percent of your body tells you to stop. Maybe it’s the right time, or is your passion or whatever. It is well choose they do not want something enough to run after him with the mind focused.
But if you choose you do not want much, so do not be surprised when they cross the end line.
2. Attitude counts. I admit it. I was in a cranky towards the end. I was really unprepared for the amount of physical pain would be, and was not a pleased camper.
Compare this with the people around me cheered, saying things like “I feel fabulous” and “I’m so excited to do that.” (And I do not even want to talk about people who saw the end line and ran through it.)
I do not doubt that there were so many aches and pains (if not more) than I did, but they retained the right to smile through everything.
Of course, the two finishes. But it is probably much less of a struggle than I, let alone delight in a heck of a lot more. (And you can be completed in less time.)

Stay tuned for the next time for the next three points.
I finished my first marathon running in San Diego a few weeks.
It was the toughest thing I’ve done.
But it’s also an incredible feat.
One thing that struck me while hoofing toward the end line was the similarity between a company and a marathon (or in my case, walking a marathon).
Here 3 (you can read the first 2 of Part 1).
3. There is no “must”. “When you imagine the kind of people who do marathons, which is what you see? Young, slim, athletic?
Nothing could be further from the truth.
There were people of all shapes and sizes, all ages (there is a category of 80-99 years, by the way) and some with very significant disabilities.
And not only finished, but many of them beat the pants of most people who looked like stereotypical marathoner.
So how does this relate to the success of the company? Do any of these sound familiar:
“I’ve trained.”
“I’m too ancient.”
“I’m too young.”
“My children are still at school.”
“I do not know enough.”
“I have no money.”
“The economy is terrible.”
“My industry has changed.”
And so on.
For all the reasons why people should not have started a business or why your business does not succeed, there is a successful owner, booming business there that has faced the same or worse obstacles and overcome them.
But this is more than an apology. People really feel like you can not succeed in business because of an image in your head. Perhaps they reckon that all successful entrepreneurs have MBAs, or had family ties, or have been raised a certain way.
But I’m here to tell you that this is not right. No picture “of the owner of a successful business. Some have PhDs, some are school dropouts. Some got a bankroll of their families, some had to fund its credit card.
The only thing they have in common is that they were determined to cross the end line.
4. Do not underestimate the power of cheerleaders. There are times during the marathon when he heard someone say: “You can do it,” It’s just a “small farther,” You nearly did not make a huge difference. Especially towards the end, the encouragement they gave me something to recover.
It was said that many people give up when success is just around the corner. They do not see yet, but if he had hung a small more, all your efforts start to bear fruit. Maybe if they had one or two cheerleader shouting “Mile 22 is just around the corner”, which would have been sufficient to keep them going.
On that note, do not be stingy with the same cheers. Your comment may be pulled from the difference between a person staying in the game or to escape. After all, we’re in this together. Life is hard enough not to share a bit of fun on the road.
5. Do not underestimate the power of mentors, coaches and friends. A group of us went to San Diego for a marathon together, and eventually make a weekend fun out of it. As this was my first marathon, which was so nice to be with people who had done many times before. They have a routine, knew the dangers and I could give advice and make myself prepared.
As a business owner, coaches and mentors can help pave the way for his success. You can say what worked and what did not work. They can give you an thought of what to expect. They know what is happening and can give an example. “They can help you brainstorm new thoughts and see the cracks that you might have missed.
And do not forget they can do the trip much more fun.
So you want to run a marathon and a half! After landing on this page, you probably noticed that you have to participate in a serious training regimen before the race start to end and achieve their personal goals. In this article I will discuss many aspects of preparing the half-marathon, you should consider. First of all when it comes to training for half marathons, you need a plot or program to follow. Without any guidance or structure, it is safer and not achieve their goals. By the way I suggest you set goals for many small-term and long term that are achievable, but still represents a challenge that can strive to achieve. The most common and probably the most effective way to form a half-marathon is run every day at different distances and speeds. In fact, all the training they need to run a 13. 1 mile race. Half-marathon training does not need fitness segment incorporated in training because he has not really helped, but I guess I will not hurt either. Unless bulk up his upper body too much and it slows you down. But squats and splits help. The principle behind the formation of half-marathon is that you want to train your body to learn to react at different speeds, distances, terrain, weather, fatigue levels and pain threshold. I hope it will not scare you out there, but half marathon training is not an simple task. Each rider has what is called a baseline. Your starting level is at full capacity. What the riders will have to increase their baselines are constantly pushing their baselines during the sessions and have a quick recovery time for their baselines remain at a high point and can be maintained and went at a speed constant. Finally, you must have a base at a point where you can run 13. 1 miles easily. Its many programs that will help you increase your baseline, but not all reached the point where you need to be.
Marathon for beginners
More training for the marathon you reckon. It is not just to go out every day and make a run around the block and maybe double and goes twice around the block on weekends. He will start to build your endurance, but what you need for a marathon is stamina and endurance. If the hope not only to end the race, but doing so in a reasonable time, then you need to get into a training program that includes strength, speed and resistance techniques. Training to run marathons, does not necessarily mean you have to run miles and miles. There are many reported cases of hurt that can be supported, particularly for the buttons, like the race is a high impact sport. You can easily increase their strength through other sports such as rowing, cycling or swimming. Participation in these sports increases heart rate and help keep fit. It is also useful to consider weight training as part of their overall training plot for the marathon. Using light weights, high-build your muscular endurance, and it helps you to input all sections of the race. You also need that strength for the last part of the race. Your local gym should be able to help with this type of circuit training to increase your anaerobic fitness. One last thing to remember is that running a marathon is as much mental as physical. You must have the right mental attitude and that is something that can be improved without any physical effort. Whenever you have a excellent average level of fitness and the right mindset, there is no reason you can not end a marathon. The key is to prepare your body and your mind. I suggest you check your local sports and see if they have a marathon dedicated to their number. I am sure you will find they are pleased to advise you and help you in any way they can, in making a training program for you.
