The more I reckon about it, the more I realize that success, just like relationships, has a lot to do with being patient. Do you agree? Very few pivotal moments in history benefited more from quick action than when some level of patience occurred instead. I know that we aren’t changing modern history here but your actions will have an impact on the non-fiction tale that is your life. For that reason, patience also applies to you! We’ve all heard that patience is a virtue but what exactly does this mean?
The virtue of patience is a blend of some other traits that also determine success. I’d best describe patience as having elements of both focus and also tenacity or commitment. Why is patience so vital? Perhaps some examples of patience will help:
1) Choosing not to say something really opinionated when discretion is probably the better choice
2) Allowing a business pursuit sufficient time to grow and develop
3) Not freaking out when you don’t hear back from a client or colleague straight away
4) Recognizing that a marketing/advertising campaign will probably not yield immediate results
5) Recognizing that success may not happen overnight!
I could probably have place dozens of things in that list. We’ve all had times in our life where, when looking back, we can say, ‘You know, I could have been more patient with _________. ’ Lack of patience is a natural thing and is also a fantastic area to improve if we are to become more successful!
What I want you to do now is reckon of some things you’ve done that showed a lack of patience. Is it simple coming up with examples from your own life? For most people, it is pretty simple.
Even though patience resembles both focus and sticking with something, it’s also affected by how we prioritize things. If you don’t reckon something is really vital, how patient are you going to be with it? Most people aren’t very patient with things that they don’t see as being very vital. Imagine standing in the kitchen, impatiently waiting for the pot to boil so you can make pasta. We’ve all done that but why the impatience? Isn’t the boiling water an vital first step to cooking noodles?
What’s happening in this example is that we are focused on enjoying the meal, looking past the steps that are involved in getting the pasta into a bowl. The exact same thing can happen when it comes to our success! Even though there’s value that comes with setting excellent clear goals, sometimes we look past the here and now and want the future today! This is where patience ties in with focus. Proper focus is on the here and the now, not the future. It’s OK to dream of a better future but when we place too much focus there, we tend to get impatient and place less value on the steps in between!
The more I reckon, the more I realize that success, such as relationships, has much to do with patience. Do you agree? Few moments in history have received more prompt action when a certain level of patience is in place. I know we’re not changing the modern history here, but their actions have an impact on the history of documentary that is your life. For this reason, the patient also applies to you! We’ve all heard that patience is a virtue, but what does that mean exactly?
The virtue of patience is a mixture of some other traits that also determine the success. Best described as elements that have the patience of these two approaches and also the tenacity or commitment. Why is patience so vital? Perhaps a few examples of patience will help you:
1) The choice not to say something very personal opinion is probably the best option
2) allowing a search for business long enough to grow and develop
3) Do not panic if you do not receive a response from a client or colleague immediately
4) Recognizing that the campaign of marketing / advertising can not produce immediate results
5) Recognize that success can not happen overnight!
Probably could have place dozens of things on this list. We’ve all had moments in our lives when, looking back, we can say: “You know, I might have been more patient with the lack of patience _________.” is natural and is also a large room for improvement if we want more success!
What I do now is reckon about some things you have done which showed a lack of patience. Is it simple to find examples of his own life? For most people, it is honestly simple.
Although the focus seems to be so patient and stick to something, it is also affected by how to prioritize things. If you do not believe that something is really vital, how much patience you’ll be with him? Most people are not very patient with the things they do are not very vital. Imagine yourself in the kitchen, impatiently waiting for the kettle to boil so you can make pasta. We’ve all done it, but why the impatience? No boiling water an vital first step to cook the noodles?
What happens in this example is that we concentrate on enjoying the food, beyond the measures that are necessary to obtain the dough in a bowl. Exactly the same thing can happen when it comes to our success! Although there is a value that comes with excellent set clear goals, sometimes we look beyond the here and now and want the future today! That’s where patience with the epidemic. emphasis should be placed on the here and now, not tomorrow. It’s OK to dream of a better future, but when you place too much attention there, we tend to get impatient and less emphasis on the stairs in the middle!
I wonder if, when Marco Pierre White became the spokesman for Bernard Matthews Turkeys anyone said: “That’s a principled choice. I respect him for that” ? That thought came to mind today when it was announced that Slow Food is to be sponsored by Booth’s supermarkets. Now, as far as supermarkets go, I know that Booths are marginally less evil than the rest. And as it’s five years since I ventured inside a supermarket I thought I’d better check and see, in case I was hopelessly out of date and they have become, as the press release implies, a paragon of virtue. So I popped into Booths in Ulverston. They have a fresh meat counter from which they sell beef which is marked “From the region”, which is as vague as it gets, and as no breed is specified, you can be certain that it is the usual suspects- i. e. Limousin and Charollais – in other words beef bred for size with no regard for quality. There are other token gestures to local and seasonal food, but the overwhelming mass of the goods on offer is the usual junk, with whole aisles devoted to pre-packed ready meals and BOGOF frozen pizzas. I picked up a pack of lasagne which had a meat content of 23% with no indication as to where the meat came from. The principles of slow food are “Excellent, clean and honest”, where “excellent” means “not junk”, “clean” means “free of chemicals and preservatives and excessive doses of salt and sugar” and “honest” means that the producer gets a honest price for his produce. All supermarkets talk a lot about ‘local ‘ and ‘organic’, but they make their money by piling up the junk food, which is full of chemicals, preservatives, sugar and salt. Booths survive in this very competitive world with more of the same. I’ve no objection to their trying to become the Waitrose of the Northwest but I wish they wouldn’t do it at the expense of the principles of Slow Food.
With the news full of daily reports of layoffs around the country, no one is feeling very secure in their job. By contrast, business on the net is enjoying a relative boom. Map out your objectives. Find an attention-getting theme that is irresistible to a visitor. Build content. Starting a small business online is simpler than you reckon, so long as your product or service is of the highest quality and competitively priced.
